Destiny 2 Unpacking. Lack of communication for Steam?

Like... what?
I preloaded a week ago. Steam told me "Preloaded - Unreleased", but Destiny 2 was sitting in my downloads. Did not bode well. I reached out to Bungie constantly, but got no answers. So I kept trying to update it everyday. Nothing.
I figured, it's either a Day 1 update or a download for Shadowkeep. People asked Bungie on Twitter about Steam info, but only gave cookie cutter CONSOLE replies. I hoped it would be good to go asap. I could only wait as it didn't let me hit the little arrow update button on Steam until it finally released.
Now here we are. Destiny 2 is "unpacking..." it keeps going from 1 hour to 2 hours for completion.
Bungie never communicated this. Bungie gave out VERY little info regarding the PC/Steam release.
Is this happening to anybody else?

I mean let's not blame Bungie until we know its them. Steam is not perfect. They spoiled a Capcom surprise release for new characters for Street Fighter literal days before the biggest fighting game tournament in the world: https://www.eurogamer.net/articles/2019-08-03-valve-apologises-for-street-fighter-5-dlc-characters-steam-leak
