Same old Bungie hype train. Looks good, but most likely won’t deliver. I don’t want to have to wait on other people playing to unlock parts of the game. I don’t want ‘have to have been there’ moments meaning you always need to be playing. It looks geared towards no lifers. I just think getting anywhere in this game now will take more time than I’m willing to give Destiny with all these other great games around. Especially when I have to pay for an expansion and season passes, meaning I really need to invest a lot of time to get my money worth. Not sure I can commit to this game anymore. I’m also worried about how much of the boring old content I’ll need to play.

  • People don't realize without the other studios helping them and Activision with Bungie working on that new $100 million IP that I'm sure they spent most of it already? Bungie is in more trouble then they would care to admit.

  • It doesn’t even look that good. It is literally the dark below all over again. We pay for the same shit we already paid for: same planet, same moon, same enemies , same weapons, same armor. Nothing is new. This company is made up of hacks.

  • I guess you get all your triple AAA games for free and their dlcs without paying a cent?

  • My point is more that if I buy the season pass, I’m stuck playing D2 as much as possible because things will be limited time. That’s not fun. It forces me to be stuck on this one old tired game. Bungie are just using FOMO to try and sucker people in to just play Destiny and nothing else. If the game lived up to the hype, that wouldn’t be so bad, but it never does.

Being forced to play one game because you spent 10 bucks is the saddest thing I ever heard. Just...I don’t know...don’t? Play other games. It’s healthy

  • That’s what I’m doing. I don’t want to be suckered in, but by making things time limited and pushing FOMO, I would feel like I’m wasting my money unless I played this game a lot. Shadowkeep is the first Destiny release/expansion I haven’t pre-ordered. Their decisions on how they want to run this game have pushed me away. Timed content and excessive grind have put me right off. But I’m annoyed by that, because this game has so much POTENTIAL. They just never live up to it and go in directions I don’t want to go.

  • Can someone please define no lifers? I have a 45 to 55 hour a week job, a wife, kids, grandchildren, and a side business and still manage to keep up. I've been playing other game lately aswell. I probably have more time invested than 95 percent of the other players and have all that other stuff going on.

  • I don’t have kids and will never have them, but my work mates who are into games struggle to find time to play unless it’s maybe one late night over the weekend. We talk about it often. By the time they work, go to the gym, help with dinner, get the kids sorted, hang with the wife, that’s the day just about done. Weekends it’s see family, do household chores/garden, take the kids to sport or to the park/cinema. They might get one night of games if they stay up late over the weekend. Maybe sneak one or two hours in during the week. They have tried and just cannot keep up in D2.

  • They are extremely busy. Do you think games should be designed for people that have 5 hours a week to game? There is no live service games those friends of yours could excel at. That statement didn't define no lifers. Luckily I play with the wife but even if I didn't I'd have time to keep up. How long do you spend at the gym and how long does yard work take? I own my house and have that to take care of to. I manage around 21 hours of game time a week, sometimes more. Oh my kids are grown but I'm raising my toddler grandchild.

  • I don’t have kids and my wife is quite happy to watch shows next to me on the couch while I play games, so I’m very lucky in that regard. By the time I leave work, get to the gym, workout and get home, that takes me two hours a day every Monday to Friday. No lifers would be maybe unemployed/benefits who play probably 10+ hours a day. Streamers etc. Now I reckon I can squeeze in up to 30 hours of gaming a week if I don’t have anything on over the weekend and have a couple late nights. I was miles behind streamers etc getting three characters to 750, especially by the time I did things like Luna’s/Recluse. My resources were low the whole way too. It wasn’t such a problem previously I’ll admit (except maybe the enhancement core economy for people without much time to play), but with the move towards content disappearing and a bigger focus on seasons/timed content, I think this is going to become an issue for people who don’t want to focus on this game alone. Especially if they don’t have much time to play.

  • I agree that those seasons will be a problem for people that don't have much time to play but those seasons are optional. I also do not think people who can't play daily shouldn't expect to get everything that someone who can does. You don't have to play 10 hours a day to keep up. I'd say 15 hours a week is more than enough time. Now grinding for specific rolls is entirely different issue. But it's possible that you'll never get that roll. The vidoc hinted at some kinda re-roll machine though.

  • I think it’s the FOMO they’re obviously pushing for that annoys me about the whole situation and it’s actively pushing me away from this game rather than drawing me in. Shadowkeep is the first Destiny release I’ve not pre-ordered. It just feels like too much commitment to one game when there are so many other great games out there. I also get from what I’ve seen, a feeling of extended grind being a push for this game too. Fair enough I just don’t have to play, but considering the POTENTIAL I see in this game, it’s just frustrating that I feel like I’d have to dedicate myself to this one game, or I’m going to miss out. Oh well, I’ll wait for Shadowkeep reviews and see.

  • I agree completely. Especially the having to Grind old content in a slightly different fashion over and over to advance. That pretty much sums up the Annual Cash Grab Pass ($60 CDN for $10 CDN of "New Content" that we need to grind 12+ month old stuff to be able to play it), which was the last straw and why I quit playing Destiny 2 on March 9th.

  • Yup same old song and dance, just put some hype music on while they are talking to make it seem important. Followed up with unrealistic hype game footage. Put it all together and you get every Bungie vidoc ever made, watch the fanboys lap it up
