Hey everybody. Played Destiny 1 for 1400+ hours but never get involved in Destiny 2 that much. But I really really miss the game. Any good reason to come back now? Please say something (or many things) to convince me.

I wouldn’t try it. I’m dissatisfied with the game, taken on the whole. 7 seasons now and it appears that Bungie cannot get anything right, on any level. Buffs and nerfs to accommodate advocates, critics, damage, gameplay, etc. All these are adjusted to arrive at the current meta this Medicare game offers. It will never be as good as D1 was in its last year. Fanboys will promote it until they’re blue in the face. I’m neither excited nor hyped over the new content in October. Bungie has not given me a reason.

I’d say try it when New Light releases in Oct and decide from there. New Light will be free and includes all of Y1 D2.

When New Light launches for free on October 1, you'll start out at 750 Power with access to all the destinations; Strike, Crucible, and Gambit playlists; and the first year of story campaigns.
