In my personal experience, younger players (16 and younger) tend to take after whatever group they're in and if we treat them with respect they'll do the same back. I've also found some younger players to be incredibly skilled and so willing to learn new things. Sometimes I've found that playing with them is a lot more fun than playing with some adults and I just wanted to know why people are so against them? Like, I want to know what's your train of thought when you hear a squeaker in the chat?
I'm asking as a girl that has a deeper voice and often gets mistaken for a younger guy. Also asking for one of my close friends that is 15 and couldn't find a solid group of people to play with until he ended up with me and the rest of our fireteam.

They can be a little eccentric at times to put it nicely. Doesn’t apply to all kids, but most I’ve encountered get irritating fast, even if they seemed fine to begin with. Some are just plain loud and obnoxious, others are very abrasive, which bothers me more. I’d rather have a police siren wailing about Fortnite than a little asshole starting shit amongst the rest of my LFG team that I spent time setting up because someone made a mistake once.

All it takes is one bad experience lol

Edited by Golden: 9/2/2019 9:42:01 AMI have nothing against Kiddos in my lobbies. I just get mad that some of them just talk non stop, ruining callouts or other conversations and are very annoying.

Edited by Fear of Missing Out: 9/1/2019 11:05:42 PMJust having a high-pitched voice doesn't make someone a squeaker. They must also have some of the following traits: -Extremely loud/screams a lot -Shitty mic/mic too close to mouth -Bad at the game, but act like they're a god -Is just a huge brat If somebody has a high-pitched voice, give them a chance. They might be a respectful and skilled player. Might.

The problem with younger players, especially with like 13 year olds and otherwise younger teens, is their tendency to just be over the top and obnoxious.

I dont really care about someone's age as long as they play and dont just sit there and farm thats the only thing I hate, inactive players

Edited by Timewaster504: 9/1/2019 3:22:11 PMAs a below 16 year old player, I haven’t run into any real problems, in fact, I tend to get more annoyed at an adult for making questionable and/or insensitive jokes.

Edited by Pocket Fox: 9/1/2019 6:35:58 AMAlso a girl but from my experience most people don't care who they play with unless you prove to be awful. I've never had a problem, and I've never personally seen anyone else have a problem unless they proved to be flat out really bad. This goes for "squeakers" too. Now, "awful" is a subjective term. You could be a decent player, but a elitist raid team with countless clears that demands perfection may find you "awful". It's not too hard to avoid this kind of group imo, they make it pretty obvious who they are lol.

Most teens don’t know how to keep their cool. I’ve played with plenty of teenagers and 9/10 times they get frustrated easily. Along with that most adults would rather play with other adults. Why? Because they’re both adults. Teenagers (most of the time) want to play with other teenagers. Why? Because they’re both teenagers.

Edited by HollowedWayfarer: 9/1/2019 5:28:54 AMIt’s the maturity mostly. Generally speaking, the younger you are, the more bratty and obnoxious you can be. I don’t mind playing with people around 16 or so, as they know how to at least, for lack of a better word, behave. If you expect me to get into an activity with a frigging 10 year old, then you’re absolutely crazy and I’m leaving instantly. 13 is most likely the absolute lowest age I can handle so long as the kid isn’t an annoying potty mouth
-
My train of though is that I don’t care. If you’re annoying then you’re annoying and I’m not going to assume you are just because you’re young, anybody can be annoying. I’m guessing it’s just a past experience where they encounter an annoying younger person and then proceeded to refuse to play with any more.

Feels weird. Like I’m an adult trying to go down the slide with all the school kids at recess
