Bungie might have revealed what season 9 will be about
In the Bungie.Net Article talking about how seasons will change in year 3, we learn 2 interesting things about seasons.
1: Seasons will be dynamic, and the world will be ever evolving as seasonal activities come and go
2: Season 9 will be Season of Dawn.
This may not seem like much, but it actually may tell us what season 9 is gonna be about.
I predict season 9 will be about Mithrax, House Light, and the Power struggle between him, Variks, and Eramis, the Shipstealer.
Not only is Dawn the opposite of Dusk, house Dusk, but this narrative has been slowly set up throughout Forsaken and the Annual pass. We see Variks leave to become the Kell of Kells, Mithrax working with guardians (and then us in Zero Hour) to form House Light, and Eramis’ failed attempt to Reclaim SIVA from the Cryptarch Vault. For those of you who paid attention during the long solstice grind, you might have noticed that another of her henchmen was present in the EAZ.
Now the question is what will be the catalyst that kicks off this season? Perhaps it could be that the Vex’s Offensive leaves Nessus relatively unguarded (as the Vex would probably abandon it to be eaten by the leviathan), allowing the fallen to reclaim the SIVA left there from the Exodus Black.
Alternatively, we could just see this just...happen, with hints such as the house of Exile on the moon joining either the House of Dusk or Eramis in ShadowKeep, or some other details not yet known.

Certainly an interesting theory. I hope it happens. I think it’s just because it will have a focus on the Christmas holiday: The Dawning. Will Season of Dawn be around that time? I have no idea when it is lol.

Season 9 will be about people being unable to redeem codes for things they earned in the game. Other events include buying Silver and then being punished for it by screwing up people's cross-saves and account transfers. :P /and still no dedicated servers (server-side authoritative, obvs :P)

Season 9 onwards will be about nickel-and-diming you even more than ever before, down to the very last penny. Desperate, Bungie led by Luke show their true colours and attempt to extract as much as possible from their gullible customers. Fortnite battle passes, pay-to-win exotics, overpriced cash shop, DLC with re-skinned armor, you name the scam, it’s there. Welcome to a Bungie-controlled Destiny.

1 ReplyGod I hope not. It's a great idea but I hope it doesn't come with something this small. The current fallen storyline is game of thrones in nature with all these leaders vying for power. This needs an expansion of TTK caliber, not a 3 month content drop.

The only thing we have of SIVA is Outbreak and a one off conversation between Ghost and Failsafe. It would be great to see SIVA infect/acquire Vex or Cabal on Nessus. Maybe some remnants of the Red Legion try and make a push by succumbing to the power of SIVA.

Are we now paying for basically holiday events that used to be free, just like how the last annual pass made us pay for the formerly free April update (in D1)? Could’ve fooled me with that scam.
