PvE
While there will always be questions still and things that change as they actually play out, I've been pretty impressed with what I've read on the overall vision going forward for both PvE and PvP.
PvE was my biggest concern still after the initial 3 developer posts from Luke, but we got confirmation today that
1) no activities will be gated by season ranks
2) progress on artifacts and season ranks are account based, meaning we can play all 3 characters regardless of how much play time we have.
So while there are again still questions out there to be answered, this also seems to indicate that the infusion fiasco is finally over. I also like that most of the new season gear can be acquired without purchasing a season, it just won't drop with random rolls after.
PvP
This is where I think, at least at this point, it looks like a home run so far. The players that enjoy Y2 QP still have their playlist while those that prefer a skill based mode now not only have their own full time playlist, but it's strictly 6v6 Control. That is huge in my opinion as it brings back the base D1 Crucible experience which made so many fall in love with Destiny PvP to begin with.
I also really like how Bungie have decided to test different versions of Elimination before going all in on one for the new Trials, as well as the shift to mostly focusing on 3v3 and 6v6 variants of Crucible to give better symmetry to play for people in fireteams.

PvE is going to be... interesting... I'm getting some D1 vibes from the new systems.
