I've gone several months without direct contact with something Tolkien, I need sustenance now or I won't be able to make it.
So in other words I'm going to start my semi-annual/annual/quarterly/weekly/bi-weekly rewatch of the Lord of the Rings movies
-
They're on TV far too often anymore. They lose their specialness after awhile.
-
#hardpass. i can't stand Special Agent Oso.
-
I have to admit, I’ve never watched a full lord of the rings movie.
-
No hobbit tho. Those movies trash and butchered the best book ever written

Edited by Trout, the Insufferable: 8/26/2019 4:12:24 PMJust finished hobbit/LotR yesterday. First time I had read the books since third grade edit: Oh. The movies. I guess I'll watch them
-
Nope. Don’t like LotR
-
I haven't watched them. I want to but im pretty sure theres supposed to be a big spider in one of them and I'm scared
-
Tried to watch it once and got bored out of my mind. Never again
-
I watch the LOTR trilogy (extended cut cause there is no other way to watch it) ever year in-between thanksgiving and new years.
-
Bruh. Extended only.
-
I've...never finished the trilogy...
-
That time of year again already?!?
Let’s do it!
-
Extended versions of course!
-
RANDOM LOTR TRIVIA: Eight of the nine actors who played the Fellowship in the first movie had the elvish word for "Nine" tattooed on their body. The sole holdout was John Rhys-Davies (Gimli). Upon hearing of this, Rhys-Davies's stunt double got the tattoo instead.

Home is behind the world ahead And there are many paths to tread Through shadow to the edge of night Until the stars are all alight. Mist and shadow Cloud and shade All shall fade All shall fade
-
I started my yearly lord of the rings viewing Friday night. Good times.
-
Does this count?
-
I just spent all day watching both the Hobbit trilogy and the LoTR trilogy
I regret nothing...
-
Every few years my wife and I attempt this. The trilogy has aged surprisingly well in terms of special effects. Obviously the story is timeless and the characters never get old. It's been a little while since we've been able to get through all three extended versions in close proximity but hopefully this winter we'll get through them again. We also have to do The Matrix as well.
-
Shit! I need 12 hours fast.
-
I've gone several months without direct contact with something Tolkien
Why would you do that to yourself man?
-
It only counts if you watch the extended editions of the Hobbit trilogy and then the Lord of the Rings trilogy.
-
I've never watched them.
-
There’s a specific time to do marathons for this? I watch them whenever I get bored to notice little things the actors do.
-
I haven’t had the time recently but I want to have a rings marathon
