Hello!
So I left Destiny near the end of Forsaken and haven’t participated in the last 3 seasons at all.
I got burnt out and my clan sort of all fell off again so I felt like it was time to put Destiny down for the first time since D1s launch.
I’ve been playing various other games since, and with Shadowkeep on the horizon, I felt like maybe it’s worth asking you all if I should look back into the game?
Would you recommend playing Destiny 2 in 2019? Is the current content any good? Is it worth coming back now to play that content before October? Will Shadowkeep be the Best expansion to date?
What do you think?
heyyy Luke, just a friendly reminder that you owe use Halo 3 guys and gals a hefty load of beef cuts. Thanks :)
With New Light around the corner? Definite yes. Won’t cost them money unless they enjoy it enough to become a proper player.

If a person doesn’t mind a MMO with no social features and that has no interest in growing an audience for end-game/pinnacle activities, then sure. Look, the game can be fun but Bungle’s unwillingness to do the above stated things will relegate it to nothing more than that Warframe-like game. So while I’m sure we’ll get a nice bump this October, especially on console; I doubt it last past Black Friday.

Edited by CatMan: 8/19/2019 8:17:57 AMI don't recommend any LSGs to anyone I know. Ever. Especially not destiny. The fomos, the nerfs, the making something amazing just to destroy it later, the addition? Nah. Yes destiny is (was) a drug to me..... And I don't think I "need" it anymore.

Edited by olly5656: 8/19/2019 6:10:06 AMOnly when it goes free, way too many FOMO mechanics and needless grind in addition to multiple pay walls to recommend the full game to someone new. I wouldn’t recommend Destiny to any of my friends in its current state. I would recommend playing for free in October and waiting for Shadowkeep reviews

When it goes free? Ya, because it’s free and doesn’t hurt to try it out

I mean... while I wouldn’t personally refer this game, as I don’t have friends that play this, I do understand people who would refer it. It’s a fantasy game where you shoot aliens in the face... or belly’s in the case of the vex. I just feel like the pvp is slightly lopsided and would be very difficult for a new player to get into with the current meta. I also feel as if the raids are lackluster in comparison to their D1 counterparts. On the positive side, the gun play is actually one of my favorites and it’s done shockingly well. I’d say a 5/10 with pvp 7/10 without it.
