So upon weekly reset you have the same sort of fix-rolled Pinnacle reward for the faction that wins the faction rally just as we had in Y1. However, to start, you pick up the quest to introduce all the NPCs again, giving their condolences at cayde's passing. Then you have the option set your allegiance to any one of them. You go a strike or lost sector bounty. Then upon doing that you get a buff like tinctures foil where for a set period time you change the chalice of opulence's loot pool to be specifically to the faction you pledge allegiance to. Either that or you get new faction specific coins to insert into the chalice. The more tedious or difficult the activity or done with the buff, the more coins you get for the chalice. That way people grind for the now random roll faction spécifique weapons and armor like Maxim, Older Sister, Dire Promise, Stochastic Variable, etc. And stuff. Or otherwise go to the npc and unlock the fixed rolled via packages first before unlocking the ability to grind the random rolled variant in menagerie. [spoiler] also like, let the glitch happen bro.
