Would it be nice if Destiny 2 will get 60fps for the newer consoles coming up in the next year?
Before PC brags, I'm not a PC player. Even though I have a PC I just enjoy console better. Of course they have it nice and smooth, depending on the build.
Seeing Destiny 2 at 60fps is actually gorgeous.
I know they can't really do that, because it's fixed at a certain fps for consoles, and the older gens would be out framed and have disadvantages, correct?
At this time of generation though, any new game coming out for the next gen consoles should be 60fps, and the next gen consoles should have the power to run it.
I don't know the specs for any of the new consoles though, other than better graphics and loading times, which is what they always announce with any newer console.

destiny needs a new engine if they are encouraging the mmo aspect, the d2/d1 engine is good but it is starting to show its age,

I play on ps4 and pc. Both have strengths and weaknesses. I am main’ing ps4 now. Prefer the community.

What would PC brag about, the constant cheating, aim bots, afk macroing and lack of player base, lol?
-
They couldn't really do that because it would put older consoles at a disadvantage. Besides, the game looks fine at 30fps.

Having recently put together a high end pc ready to move my PS4 account over in September I don’t see console competing anywhere near the same level. Even 60fps will feel bad once you experience 100+FPS. When I’ve played on my stop gap pc account I have to leave it at least 2-3 hours before I can play PS4 again.

Not necessary. You look at other console titles. The Div 2 and even Anthem. Both beautiful games with immaculate attention to detail. D2 is fine the way it is on console and could be improved upon when comparing to the games I just mentioned without having to be 60fps.
-
They would have to tear down the foundation of D2 and rebuild it. Bungie dont have that time, bungie needs to move on to D3 and make that right from start.
-
Destiny 2 should absolutely have been 60 fps at release. They would be out of their minds to not launch a 60fps patch with next gen consoles. Although I could see them sticking with 30 so that old gen isnt left in the dirt.. ick

Game companies will always keep holding back cause they wanted to cater to the ones who take 3 years+ to upgrade. So when the new one comes out all we get are pretty colors and faster load times. Little Timmy who takes 3 years needs to be able to enjoy the game too. 🙄

I'd say that the newer consoles could do it 100% or at least I'd hope they can. The current problem is the CPU in the consoles, they've said that's why they couldn't hit 60fps and I can understand that. It would be nice for the next gen consoles to get a performance boost.
-
I think we’ll see the current gen versions of D2 ported over to the next gen consoles just as a holdover to D3 about 6 months to a year after the next gen is released.
-
I’ve tried d2 on pc and it’s butter smooth and I love it, but I like relaxing back on a console more then anything so I hope they can push something out when the next gens come to light. It’s always been hardware limitations and they got the solid graphics, now we just need the frame rate boost and I don’t think I’d be playing anything else.

Edited by Hupakko: 7/14/2019 7:52:18 AMWith cross save coming, I’m considering getting Google Stadia for D2 and move my PS4 characters there. With Stadia you will have 60fps there without need to buy any gear (PC upgrades) and as it is hosted on Google servers, likely won’t have so much cheating issues. And not osting as much as new console either!

I think they even said this would be possible at a recent E3 Q and A.
