I'm sorry if that title seemed passive aggressive ehe.
If you were to have a kid, what are your top names as of this moment? Would you rather have a boy or a girl?
For parents, what did you name your kids? Or what were your favorite names that weren't chosen? Did you prefer having a boy or a girl, or did it not matter?
i really like asking questions i'm sorry TwT
Edited by xxx: 7/14/2019 6:43:12 AMMy son, I wanted to name him Xander Robert and my last name. My wife decided he was going to be named Kaden Alexander. I am not putting my last name out here for a reason, btw. When we found out we were having another boy, we went through a lot of names and finally choose Kyler Tiernan. Then our daughter was born and we were looking at the doctor like, "Uuuuhhhhmmmm, you are missing some plumbing there doc!" So we were trying to come up with some cool girl names. Ryden Paige. Adylynn Paige (wife was set on Paige). Finally with no names really "feeling" like our daughter, I turned to my wife and said, "Babe, I always wanted to name my daughter Aliera, what about that?" She was like, I can't do that as her first, it doesn't feel right, but I love it for the middle name. Then we got a call that my wife's great grandmother passed away, so we made the middle name Aliera-Jean. Finally, one of us suggested Kyler Aliera-Jean and we knew it was right. It was obviously perfect because she hates her first name with a passion, lol.

When naming a child remember: the kid will have to go to school with the name you choose.

Edited by Eden: 7/14/2019 5:49:38 PMI've always liked unisex names. Two of my favourites are Casey and Max. That being said, I'd probably want a girl more than a boy. A couple my parents are friends with named their son Torin, which is also a pretty cool name. I wouldn't want anything too weird though. They're a child, not a new D&D character.
A friend of mine told me recently if he had a daughter he'd call her Mayonnaise but shorten it to May. Hardly anyone would find out because May isn't typically short for anything, but on all her official documents it would say Mayonnaise.
As far as gender it didn’t matter but I thought I would have an easier time with a boy. We have 2 boys, when we were expecting our second I was pushing more towards a girl mainly for my wife. I honestly don’t remember what names we picked out prior to them being born, our first is named after her dad and our second is Jackson Thomas she liked Jack and my middle name.

Uhh...implying I’d ever want kids, and that by some stroke of luck I meet someone willing to put up with my crap? Probably Jack for a boy, Lucina for a girl

Boy: Demarcus Girl: Samantha

Well, this scenario assumes that someone would put up with my shit. If that actually happened for a boy's name, I would pick Dmitri or Clovis. and for a girl's name, I would pick Maeve or maybe Ivy. As for which gender child I would prefer, I wouldn't really care.
-
It would never have mattered if my kids were boys or girls. It never should. I have no names to pick anymore, for I gave long since made those decisions. The goal was to not let their Mom pick the stupid names that she was always waffling on. I was successful in that endeavor.

I’m not telling some random on the internet what my daughters name is.
