Boss slam mechanics are one of the most poorly designed and horrendously dumb mechanics in the game.
Shotguns? lol get slammed.
Melee debuffs? lol get slammed.
Tractor cannon debuff? lol get slammed.
Swords... LOL.
Melee supers? LOL GET SLAMMED.
3 freakin' times I tried to land my heavy fists of havoc jump attack (top tree) and EVERY time I got even remotely close to the Primeval I got slammed and thrown off the platform, completely wasting my super

None of these lazy designs would be a problem if Bungie wouldn't recycle literally everything in their game hundreds of times. Like Jesus Christ, how hard can it be for a few hundred people to come up with something new for once...
-
I feel like a pinball sometimes. I’d say they could release a Destiny Pinball game to download, but why bother? We already have: - boss slams - Cabal Phalanx shield attacks - Taken Phalanx shield blasts - those Taken things on surfaces that the community has literally dubbed “pushers” - Cabal Psion launch attack - those blue Scorn..... things that pull you in Nearly all of which can sale you into a wall hard enough to be killed.
-
Its because Bungie is trash at coming up with ways to legitimately kill us. Yet i remember when we would push atheon and crota off the edge luke smith would act like a triggered little girl over it. no problem if it happens to guardians though
-
code of the missile aim at his face. Slams suck and are over used they super duper, I hate you devs with the intesity of 1000 suns suck if they have blackout.
-
Damage can stay the same, but knock back needs to chill or at the very least have something that reduces the effect of knock back (like a perk or just crouching)
-
Okay I'm just gonna say it so people can get over it. 1. We know how to melee to counter the stomp. 2. We just want for more variety in boss encounters. More variety means different load outs and tactics and a more interesting game. 3. See number 1. We get it.
-
how can flying bosses slam?
-
Swords can powerarmor through the slam with an aerial heavy attack, though the damage is so much ass that I still don't use swords in stuff like Gambit or Strike bosses.
-
Slams are staying, otherwise all bosses would be Morgeth aka PLS NOT THE SHOTGUNS DAD
-
Maybe a teleport mechanic like the servitor public event
-
The slam needs to makes sense. Foot stomp only go outwards from foot area not vertical. Hydra would be an energy purge pushing you away. Wizards would push down and out with a pressure push not a stomp. So basically skilled design not just copy and paste.
-
You mean a boss like the meatball who has no legs and can stomp is stupid?!?
-
Alliteration is awesome
-
Just shoulder charge lol
-
say that fast 10 times
-
Nice alliteration title :D
-
If you think that's bad try the same set up on the final boss in the Menagerie this week! Finally said screw singe and went Bubble Titan. Yet more proof that our almighty Titans are really worthless un-cared for pieces of garbage in D2. and I'M MAD AS HELL AND NOT GOING TO TAKE IT ANYMORE (I switched to maining my warlock)
-
Use the Whisper...get it? Lol
-
I love the boss mechanics.
-
But then Trench barrel and One-Two Punch would be useful :/ (this was sarcasm)
-
This is the most obnoxious, ass-backwards shit in the game, and it needs to -blam!-ing go, or at the VERY LEAST get absolutely nerfed. If I had a dollar for every time one of these bullshit blasts has ruined my Fists of Havoc, I'd be able to outright buy Bungie and force them to remove this nonsense from the game.
-
Personally, for most situations I'm switching to sniper rifles over shotguns. Mostly because of stomp mechanics, but also because I just like long range combat.
-
LOL GET REKT!1!!11
-
idk man swords arent to bad when it comes to slams just light attack when the boss is about to slam, and back to heavy attack. tractor is a debuff. you dont have to get full damage if the point is to just hit it. melting point and regular shotguns i agree. i recomend switching loadouts. feels like shotties vs bossies are not intended but it should be. i just feel like this is just a small issue compared to other bigger issues. but thats just my opinion.

Edited by Abe: 7/8/2019 11:39:47 PMTractor Cannon is a shotgun

A burning ring if you get too close to a boss is an other idea. A dome that protects you while your in it with no stomp but if you leave it DoT's are applied. Eh, not a whole lot of choices there. Maybe a small handful at most.
