Some quests steps (e.g: Forsaken expansion's Ace of Spades quest involves killing 5 invading players in Gambit and 25 precision kills in Crucible) require players to participate in PvP activities that they would rather not engage in. Would it be possible to simply add a PvE option to any quest step that initially requires PvP? This would not take anything away from PvP players & would allow PvE-only players to complete a quest step that they would originally shun.

Make all steps PvP, and lock all PvE content until you've finished the PvP only questline. I want to see kids heads explode.
-
The one thing I've noticed about this community is that they hate options they prefer to be told how to play the game.

Edited by Ogma: Destroyer of Worlds: 7/2/2019 8:52:20 PMPvP should just be it’s own thing entirely. Let the people that like competition compete solely for the sake of, you know..... competition. WITHOUT being tasked with arbitrary pursuits and without all these other people running around doing their own thing in the middle of it. Separate it, and have ALL weapons attainable and for use in PVP only. All these “get x kills with (insert weapon type here)” and “get x amount of this type of kill” in the crucible are an obviously mind bogglingly bad idea. Individuals completing personal objectives while competing, ESPECIALLY on a team, makes zero sense. None at all. Those two things are in fundamental opposition of one another. “bUT YoU coULD JuST dO It iN RuMbLe” If it’s going to be a solo grind, why shouldn’t players be able to use an activity that they actually like?
-
Only because of how broken Comp is do I wish there were different objectives to Crucible weapon quests. I like the Revoker quest but damn it’s still so hard to win Glory matches with all the DDOS and loading into 2v4s
-
Why do people care whether others are forced into crucible or offered a PVE option? Are you that desperate to protect your precious D2 Quickplay KD? Lmao.
-
Uhhhhhhhhhhhh no

I’m forever gonna blame Bungie for gating Caydes pistol behind pvp. Absolutely shameful Bungo, hope you enjoy runnning off a lot of customers. The faithful can’t see your financials but if they did maybe they’d be a more open minded. Oh well, I ONLY buy Destiny content on deep ass discount

Short list of guns I will never acquire because PvE quests are boring as hell: Mida Multi Tool Polaris Lance Rat King Legend of Acrius Outbreak Perfected And that's not even including the non-quest stuff I'll never get: Literally all of the stupid prophecy weapons Worldline Zero Any Ikelos weapon Sleeper Stimulant Reckoning Gear Any Nightfall exclusive Forge Weapons (and armor.) Tarrabah Anarchy Raid gear (no enhanced perks for me) A ton of catalysts I'd say it's pretty fair.
-
Give me the option to only do the quest in pvp because pve is boring
-
Add pvp options to PvE quest steps!
-
I absolutely agree with you, the thorn quest is impossible for me on the step of the quest where you have to get void kills in crucible

If every single step could also be done in pvp, sure.
-
Give me 1k voices, for reaching valor legend 3 times in a season and you got a deal! Lmfao jk, see how stupid you sound!
-
Lets move pvp quest into pve so all can be completed and all can have a meta gun instead of working toward it.
-
It’s 25 kills and 1 gambit kill. There’s literally zero challenge and yet you still complain.
-
Jesus christ man I'm not the biggest fan of destiny's PvP but it seriously is not very difficult or a big deal to do PvP related steps for a weapon ... There are people who hate pve that only play PvP and still complete the pve quest steps with out complaining about it or asking for it to be removed

Or... just make it make sense.... The primary focus of the franchise has been fixing what was broken by D2 Vanilla — Great! Now’s the time to focus on the biggest problem that Destiny has always had, which is is how it delivers the narrative and STORY. Lumina: Crucible makes no sense to me. It’s a healing weapon, the opposite of Thorn. If anything it should all be based on feats of supporting your allies, which alot of it is — generating orbs. But getting Res’, using wells, tethers and banner shields would make more sense than.... Killing guardians Thorn: Crucible makes sense — because it hungers for Guardians light. Outbreak Prime: Crucible would not make any sense. Maybe Iron Banner. SIVA is a lore item connected to the Fallen, the Iron Lords and the EDZ. The mission was good though. Last Word: It’s understandable. It’s a PvP weapon. BUT, not really the WAY they did it. The quest was a lore dump, it should have been about the STORY and exploring the history behind Last Word and Thorn. THEN crucible makes sense AFTER you defeat the Hive weapon smiths, to get the Catalyst or something, actually Using the Last Word in it’s venue. Ace Of Spade: Again, it was a lore dump about Cayde and his mentality. Why am I killing Gambit invaders? Malfeasance: Gambit made perfect sense. Raid weapons: Crucible makes zero sense. Overall, the steps just need to be well though out. That’s all. A lot of it has instead been the equivalent of Open World fetch quests to just stretch out the time. In those cases, with stuff like, “calibrate the gun” — you should be able to choose whatever activity you want. As long as the gun is firing, the Gunsmith should be able to calibrate it. People should absolutely be able to go play Crucible (ANY mode), instead of, for example, standing around on Io waiting for a Cabal drill for 2 HOURS 🤦🏽♂️ 🤦🏽♂️ 🤦🏽♂️
-
The lumina quest isn’t bad at all. Nothing like last word, AoS, and thorn. This quest was a cake walk.
-
Add pvp options in pve steps.
-
This makes way too much sense. It wont happen.
-
As well as vice-versa, because grinding EP, BW, and/or Forges was more painful than pulling teeth.
-
I would say at the start of each season you can choose to pledge your account to Vanguard or Crucible. Then have a PvP and PvE variations of the non exotic guns you quest for. Stats are the exact same but names and skins would be different, even ornaments. This way if people don’t want to PvP they can farm all season long for the PvE version and vice versa. I would say make it account based but character based works too if people really want to grind it out twice for both versions of the same weaponry. This way PvE doesn’t need to complain of having to PvP and those who just want to PvP can get theirs too.
-
Indeed. Stop forcing me to play modes I loath... Not to meantion Lumina is clearly a support gun. They want you to grind other players faces so you can work better as a team... Neat.
-
The quests that have pvp in them, like the Ace of Spades, have pvp in them because of the history of the weapon or the wielder. It's fitting that Ace requires both crucible and gambit because of Cayde's back story. It's a similar story with the other pvp linked exotics. If you check the lore, it's right in there as to why.
-
So I should be able to get every gun in the game from only playing Patrol? I mean if the point is to not force players into modes they don't like what if I only like patrol?
