So, as we all know these two systems are broken. I will do my best to keep this short, and not create a wall of text.
Infusion:
No more cores to infuse an item to a higher light level.
Collections:
All weapons can be reacquired with a predetermined roll from the collections screen, this is a roll that all weapons, should this idea be implemented, will be determined by developer. In world drops will still be random drops as they are now. This simply introduces weapon crafting, what I would call "Master Crafted Weapons".
Cores:
Cores will now work as an "upgrade" material to weapons. They upgrade the masterwork as they do now, but also upgrade perks.
1. In order to attain the ability to upgrade the weapon, you must first use it (ie, mini quests such as kill x enemies of type y with this weapon).
2. Upgrading gives you a new random selection of 2 possible perks that the slot has available. The cost for upgrading a perk is 3 cores. Meaning getting a 'God roll' weapon could cost 12 or more cores (if someone manages to be very lucky).
It is important to note that each subsequent upgrade will require the player to go out and complete another "use this weapon" quest. In addition, the more 'Master Crafted' columns that a weapon has, the more difficult (time consuming) the quests will become (this is not per slot, but per column).
This idea should solve several issues with certain systems in the game.
