What if XP gains contributed to masterworking gear?
I personally have never felt affected by the enhancement core problem until a few days ago when I hit max light and decided to masterwork my armour and some of the weapons I haven’t finished masterworking. This is where I started to see the issue.
Enhancement cores are for both infusion and masterworking your gear, doing both becomes costly fairly quickly. I thought of a solution that would help this problem and ease enhancement core economy.
Bungie states that masterworking your gear is an investment on your favourite weapons and armour, say that as you play with your favourite gear, your xp gains grant a small amount of progress on masterworking your gear, It would take a while to get a level of masterwork on that piece, but would be progress nonetheless. This can be fast tracked by using enhancement cores to get a masterwork level. The very last masterwork level on a weapon or armour piece would require the usual masterwork cost.
TL;DR
- XP gains contribute to masterwork levels
- XP gains aren’t much towards masterwork levels and will require a good amount
- The last masterwork level must be acquired by the usual masterwork cost
- Masterwork levels can still be acquired normally
- Eases cost on enhancement cores so that they can be used for infusing
- Investing time into gear provides an alternative to grinding enhancement cores
- Does not apply to masterworking exotics
