I was at Heroic II and trying to grind up to Fabled for Pinnacle Weapons, but thrice now in one day I've wound up in situations where two or even three other players rage-quit in COMPETITIVE CRUCIBLE because the match isn't going their way. Because of this, I've dropped down to Heroic I as of this post.
I've seen this happen a lot in my time playing this game. It aggravates me when it happens in the team I'm matched into, and I can only feel sorry for people to whom this happens.
I know there was a thirty-minute ban implemented for people who do quit March of last year, but I think it's clear that thirty minutes doesn't cut it; that's practically a slap on the wrist. The punishment needs to be harsher. I'm not suggesting things as unreasonably disproportionate as "ban until weekly reset", something which would require a system keeping track of how frequently a player rage-quits Comp, but I would suggest an increased deduction of their rank progress or even a reduction of rank progress proportional to the length of the ban - In Heroic, if you rage quit, that adds up to a loss of 208 points.
Perhaps it might dissuade people prone to rage-quitting from doing so and spoiling things for everyone else, but I also understand it'd be disproportionate for people who accidentally leave matches under no fault of their own (disconnects, server problems, etc).

No, they just need to take loser penalties out of the game and reward points based on individual objectives and performance rather than win/loss only. Still let Glory go up/down on wins/losses, but don't go negative on the quest steps. Like the Revoker.

You realize repeated offenses give bigger picture punishments? 30 minutes first, then 2 weeks, then 2 months. After that it's a permanent ban from whatever activity.
