I've reported each one I've seen but they seem to pop up more and more. If there's a way to prevent these people from getting rewards or something to lessen their "effective" farming, that'd be great, because all they do is lessen the experience for people who actually play. I go into crucible to fight people, not be the only one active in a rumble lobby. I go into strikes to get the mission done, not babysit some macro/bot. I don't know if Bungie sees the reports people send, but if people can keep afk farming this game its gonna become nothing but bots sooner then later.
What kind of punishment do they actually get, because right now it seems they're getting rewarded for being, in my opinion, scummy people. I don't know how hard it is to code or change something, but if these people do nothing but get farmed in a match of crucible, or be a lump on a log in strikes, 0 Kills, 0 Assist, etc., should they be rewarded at all? Also if possible, have the 'report for using a bot' kick players from a playlist activity afterwards so they can't continue, maybe a temporary ban or restriction if they have done nothing the entire match.
I don't know how others feel as a whole, but macro/bot users are honestly some of the worse parts of playing games like this due to them directly making the game experience worse and I hope that can be changed.
