Now I might be making my first post from other, more impactful, sections of b.net and I will go ahead and state outright I am not a fan of offtopic in general, but after hearing there was... an idea... to delete the entire off topic area?
Well. Gentlemen. Let me remind you that A LOT of the seasoned veterans of "before bungie.net was bought by Bungie Studios Inc" know... that the VERY FIRST... was the off topic area. Back during MYTH days.
You know why? Because out of alllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllll the areas you can name? This is the overflow valve with no off switch. This is not a cesspool of litter. This is where gamers can have wacky crazy demolition derby meme approved (and just as quickly disapproved. See Halo 2 BXR off-topic thread days- It nearly split the entire community in two) fun time.
So with that said? Bungie.net has always been a home of people who really game secondary, but enjoy a good off-topic visit to get away from the heavily debated Lore discussions, Destiny 2 fan addicts, giving you meaningful game feedback (and lots of it over the years); so if you decide to remove off-topic? Just know you're removing the last bit of the original forum experience which was user owned and operated back then. I wonder what has changed besides the faces at Bungie...

Edited by ALIAS-F4LS: 5/12/2019 6:51:48 PMHonestly this has to be the most well constructed reason on why Offtopic should exist. It's true, there's always been a section of the forums dedicated to conversation outside of the game itself. Sure it's a madhouse, but dammit, it's the madhouse that started it all and it's still active to this day.
