Spectral sucked in PvE regardless. It's not for PvE other than screwing around. Each tree of each subclass has a niche. Not every tree needs to be the best in every activity.

  • Well Spectral is actually built to be good in both. Headshots make you invisible, your smokes blind enemies and stun them, and it has melting point, too. So it sucks the actual SUPER is trash in PvE

  • Pretty much everything in the tree is geared towards PvP other than the weakening from stealth. The hit tracking in PvE was always atrocious. You're grasping at straws. Each one of those abilities can do something in PvE sure, but are clearly more effective and built for PvP

  • I disagree. Invis is definitely more geared towards PvE. And the smokes deny entire groups of ads. Plus the whole melting point thing. So that's 2 (and a half?) Abilities out of its 3 that work better in PvE. Although really, this debate is kinda pointless. No matter which way you slice it; Bungie needs to separate PvE and PvP balance.

  • Sorry man, but no. Let me know next time your raid or NF or any endgame team prefers you to run that over tether or Goldy with celestial. It's for PvP. It always has been.

  • I use it a lot in raids. If I dont need dps, then I use it. It's great for survivability. Ads are no problem if they cant see you. And the melting point is helpful for taking down VIP targets like the knights in Kali's fight. Truth is, you can use pretty much every subclass pretty much everywhere. It depends on how you use them. But again, this whole debate doesnt matter because whether or not spectral was "meant" for PvE, people use it there. PvP and PvE balance have needed to be separate since the beginning of D1. That's still the case.
