What it's your opinion on limited timers in challenges and events?
This seems to be a really controversial topic right now, so I want to see the numbers.

If they do somehow convince bungie to change timers, what I would recommend is giving us infinite time to explore. But if you don’t complete the mission within 20 minutes you don’t get any rewards

I like the feeling of accomplishment when I beat things like this. It requires team effort and thinking. If it didn't have a timer I'd personally think it'd be too easy and boring. Almost be like a strike with an exotic weapon at the end. I don't even use volume on the game anymore unless I'm doing something like this, lore, or raids. It also forces you to interact with people meet people from the community

Edited by Spooky_Ari: 5/10/2019 6:08:48 PMTimers are good where necessary. Like Zero Hour and Last Word technically. It creates more depth. Forge and Reckoning timers need to go though.

Timers are a basically a DPS-check. They narrow the range of options in terms of how to approach the content...and creat artificial difficulty by excessively punishing mistakes, and pressuring players to play recklessly. Wipe mechanics are disrespectful to players who don't have the time to play several hours a day. Since they basically can waste large chunks of player time by forcing them to keep having to start content over. So I'm more opposed to the wipe/kick to orbit mechanic than I am to the timer. The timer is simply annoying because its gotten to the point where Bungie is REALLY overusing them. The Whisper of the Worm was fine, because it was an isolated event in the game when it dropped last year. But now, we're looking at a game where almost everything we do is timed.

Simply put, zero hour only has 2 ways to be difficult, either a timer or the Nightfall modifier with whatever the rainbow damage perk was on the Thorn strike. Anything else would be a cakewalk.

Edited by Ari: 5/10/2019 2:36:05 PMThere already has been a poll about this in one of these topics you mention, about 60% here think it's ok for timers to exist, and about 40% think not, (but keep in mind the forum is hardly an unbiased place, since mostly dedicated destiny players are here, inclining the scale to the hardcore portion of gamers). I'll give you an example: i'm the leader of a clan of about 20 people, and from those, only 5 don't mind the timer, and those 5 don't oppose removing it, (unlike here, that people defend the timer like if it was some ultimate achievement, which is not), the other 15 dislike the timer, me included.

Have the mission accessible without timers and enemies so we can either explore or help someone with the route without worrying about the timer. I always go to lfg to help out people who need it and takes us a few tries for them to understand the route. But for the actual mission, timer is absolutely necessary. It’s an easy mission for an amazing gun.
