When was it supposed to kill Destiny? Before or after being abandoned by its devs?
Disclaimer: I don’t play D2 anymore, I just find it funny that it’s still more alive than Anthem.
-
I actually played it today for the first time in weeks. It was still Anthem.
-
I predicted Anthem would be dead on arrival. After the long streak of -blam!-y games EA has launched, I had little to no hope for Anthem.
-
Anthem was doomed from the start, honestly. If D2 taught me one thing it is, “don’t preorder looter shooters”.
-
Iron Man simulator, wizard Spartan simulator. We don't really care who "killed" who for the most part. Curious though, any upcoming games that interest you?
-
We dont say the D word down here

The idiots in gaming disappeared

Those whiners killed #Gaming for nothing.
-
The devs abandoned it?
-
I don't really care whose dumpster fire smells better.
I just find it funny that it’s still more alive than Anthem.
Thing is Anthem is only being kept alive ATM by its never-ending controversy. It was a funny s--tshow initially. It stopped being funny once that Kotaku article came out. Really soured even coming back to it knowing people were having full on nervous breakdowns during development. Although at this point I think it's a wider problem in the industry and not just singled out to BioWare.

Edited by TheArtist: 5/9/2019 2:44:43 PM
When was it supposed to kill Destiny?
No one over the age of 12 was saying it was going to kill Destiny. Bungie is doing a good enough job of that without Bioware's help. The Division 2 has had a flaweless launch, and it isn't "killing" Destiny either. But if you think both of these games are taking sizeable chunks out of Destiny's PVE player base....and contributing to the steadily declining player engagement numbers....you're really whistling past the graveyard.
Before or after being abandoned by its devs?
The game hasn't been abandoned...and isn't likely to. 1. Mass Effect Andromeda was abandoned because it was single player game...that had missed its window of opportunity for profitablity. Any additional resources would have been a loss. Also Mass Effect 3 has painted that franchise into such a corner that it really not clear how...or IF...there is a way to continue it that would be acceptable to the player base. 2. The game still has a very healthy player base. Especially on console. 3. The devs being moved were the ones responsible for cutting through the chaos of Anthem's development and hauling an actually releasable product from it. They are being moved to Dragon Age 4 whose development is rumored to be in even worse shape than Anthem's was. 4. BioWare is aggressively hiring people with experience in designing loot systems....which (to those of us who actually play the game0 is clearly the game's biggest problem at the moment.

Little late to the party dude...

I just wanna know where the for sure defenders went. Not even whisper. I told the truth about the game literally months before release and got attacked endlessly. Amazing how everything I said was actually true.
-
Thank gosh I never pre-ordered it. And that kids is why we buy games after the get reviews.
-
I will never pre order a game again. Thanks Bioware.
-
I'm guessing it'll take a few months to a year to be worthwhile (for the long term anyway).
-
I mean, the division was supposed to kill destiny as well. Look how that turned out
-
Heh. I will always use this as a tease for my one friend who diehard said “AnTHeM wILL KiLl DeSTiNY” *Several months later* You sure bout that? Lol
-
Just let it die already geez.
-
The drops for Anthem is terrible.
-
Yeah that game got boring fast too.
