The main reason I haven't played Destiny 2 a lot in the past month or is because of these Enhancement Cores. Why should I grind and grind to get maybe eight cores a week just to level up when I can go play a game that doesn't involve grind 24/7, like Borderlands, or Warframe. Bungie, I desperately want to get back into Destiny, but I just can't take this grind for cores anymore.

Wow. Now people are saying Warframe is less grindy than D2. Has it really come to this? Wow.
-
Okay, Warframe is grindy. However, most of the grind is towards a new gun or warframe instead of a higher number. And while there is a grind for numbers (Mastery Rank) I do feel like most of the grind is for weapons and warframes.
-
Warframe has you grind for power. Not to retain the use of powers you’ve already acquired.
-
Very true. I'd say that, aside from random rolls and power level, in Destiny there is very little difference between a green 450 RPM Auto Rifle and a purple 450 Auto Rifle. In Warframe, if you compare an early game rifle, the Braton, to a late game rifle, the Opticor, they have almost no similarities, other than they use the same ammo type.
Bungie, I desperately want to get back into Destiny, but I just can't take this grind for cores anymore.
The light level grind has gotten to me too lately. I might just skip the next content drop.

But we paid full price for this lack luster content and some of us stupid guys including me pre ordered + through money into this game
-
Lacklustre (all one word) Destiny 2 is definitely in conviction, vitality, imagination & 'erm, light! 😆

Warframe is literally just grind after grind lol
-
You grind for POWER in Warframe. You grind for the sake of grinding in D2.
-
You grind for better rolls. Better rolls = more power and flexibility in gameplay. Do you have an Enhanced Bomber + Enhanced Ashes + Enhanced Momentum transfer set? Have you tried stacking it with 5 paragon mods? 5 Ordnance mods? There's a hundred different builds you can grind that believe it or not have a massive impact on how powerful you feel. I can agree that there's a lack of content to test your power on, but I think the different iterations of the Forest are exploring options to take hordemode in a Diablo-esque direction, which would actually be really cool for Destiny.

Cores don’t translate into power. They just let you keep powers already acquired. No other game does this shit.

Edited by BCFre: 5/12/2019 7:42:08 PMStop being dense. Perk combos are the only thing that really matter for power, and the problem is you're chasing numbers instead of building your character. You don't need to be max light to grind for great combos, and in fact I got my hunter to 700 light in a month playing Crucible almost exclusively. I can agree that exotics and enhanced perks are still a bit too rare, but saying that the grind is pointless is asinine. The point is building a stronger armory of perks and builds for different situations. I have also never run out of cores, again, playing Crucible almost exclusively. As of this writing I have dozens if fully MW weapons and armors.

Edited by TheArtist: 5/12/2019 11:47:36 PMOnce you resorted to “You don’t need” you lost the argument. If infusion doesn’t affect the game, why is Bungie trying to bottleneck it....and is risking the franchise to prevent people from freely using it. Could it be because power DOES matter when your have things like Zero Hour dropping at 690 and is DPS-checked via a timer. So you need to have certain gear leveled to 700 to give you the best chance of success. Or you could just don all your 650 gear and let me know how it goes....

Edited by BCFre: 5/13/2019 12:23:51 AMI didn't say power doesn't affect the game, I said it's just number and doesn't matter. Any game that has power tied to a number is shallow at best to begin with. The number is just there so simpletons have something shallow and basic to chase. It's there because people like you need a carrot, not because there's no depth beyond the carrot. The real power in Destiny is tied to perk combos and synergy. That's what the grind is about, numbers are secondary or tertiary. The amount of things that you need LL 650+ is negligible... Reckoning & Zero Hour... Iron Banner? Even then, you don't really need anywhere close to 700 to complete. Imagine if Destiny didn't have power level, and the entire game and every encounter was designed around synergizing perks and subclasses. Conceptually that's great, but then you'd complain about having nothing to chase because you are incapable of min/maxing. There's nothing to argue about with you. You have 0 self awareness.

I not played for months but do you ever feel powerful in destiny? Yes you reach max lvl but (maybe it’s just me) I never notice any difference in my power , still takes same amount of time to kill and die , it’s just a stupid number above my head , and if we find a weapon that does do a bit better than others Bungie nerfs it . What the point really the number above ur head just give access to certain activities Certainly doesn’t make you feel powerful I’m currently playing the division (loving it BTW) when I use different load outs, I can feel the difference I can feel powerful. But as I said maybe it is just me , maybe the division has spoiled me.
-
But it doesn't take days and weeks to gather after a certain investment. In destiny you grind is essentially useless, you never feel powerful unlike warframe where you definitely benefit from your time invested.
-
idk what you're talking about but I can solo everything in Destiny within a matter of minutes, with the exception of raid encounters that mechanically require multiple people to complete. That feels powerful enough to me.
-
Of course you can and you've done it all with one hand on the controller, all first runs!!
-
Alright, that's fair. But at least in Warframe, I feel like I'm actually making progress.

Edited by BCFre: 5/8/2019 6:44:07 PMBeen a long time since I played Warframe, was a fun game but really was the same stuff over and over just like Destiny. I thought it was pretty cool for what it was tho. It's great for being a free game - really pushes the envelope for what a free game can be. Couldn't get into crafting times and such though. I play Destiny for pvp tho.
