The thing that has always bothered me about destiny, even since d1, is the ever changing econimies. I mean I can't even remember half the names of random shit I've had to grind for only for it to become obsolete. Anybody remember what that thing was called from the prison of elders that was essential to progress at the time? What I'm getting at is that I would like some currency consistency, so if you guys are looking for a long term structure of resourse currency and upgrade paths then yeah I'm down with trying to find new uses for existing assets, but by the traveller of all the things to stick on why choose masterwork cores. Before you say it I know they are not called that anymore I just thought it fitted the tone of the post. Thank you.

  • The economies really have been ever changing. It's like a staple of the game at this point. Legendary Marks and Crucible Marks, Commendations, Exotic Shards, Etheric Light, Tokens, Enhancement Cores, wide varieties of planetary materials, the ever present glimmer. Vanguard vendors all take different currencies, then the same currency, now different currencies again. This package will cost you 40 ______, now it's 100______. Iron Banner weapons used to cost glimmer once upon a time. Bounties were free, now they cost things. Used to cost glimmer to apply shaders, now that's free but it still costs glimmer to apply mods. So so so so so many examples of an ever changing economy. You could say that it's an "evolving" economy, but the economy also regresses. That case in point, of course, is Infusion. Went from a cheap and easy way to keep you favorite gear to being so expensive that it's burdensome. The good thing about this game is that the economy has a history of changing, so eventually we'll have a place to spend Baryon Boughs and eventually Infusion costs will get under control again. If not, well... Borderlands 3 is coming fast and Division 2 is supposed to be excellent.
