These are Engagement numbers that are as bad as they were this time LAST year, when the community was still very negative about the game and the Curse of Osiris DLC.
The game...and Bungie....has just gone in a big circle...and wound up right back in the same place.

A place with hundreds of thousands of still active players at the beginning of spring?

https://www.reddit.com/r/wow/comments/acqhph/i_estimated_subscriber_numbers_using_google_trend/?depth=1 World of Warcraft still has MILLIONS of active players. Overwatch probably does as well. THAT, is probably why Activision left. In their eyes, this game doesn't have a player base that makes it justifiable for them to have kept pouring the resources into it that they were. A game that only draws 600K players....but was consuming the resources of THREE studios and 1400 employees to make. Bad math.

I like your use of words, probably this probably that. Want an absolute? Cores are staying. Destiny is staying. With or without you the game will be fine.
-
no they wont.they'll be removed for season 3 as a selling point.then pro core people are gonna feel stupid.thats your absolute
-
You are absolutely wrong
-
we'll see
-
Not about me. It’s about the nearly 700k people every day who no longer play.
-
And the games still here...
-
Yep. And their business partner isn’t. This game will never die to the point they turn off the servers. But Bungie is basically able to cripple this game to the point that it becomes a pale shadow of what it once was.
-
The people that play now and have played since d1 will continue to do so. No crying, no pathetic banter about a in game economy, they’ll just play. You are wrong and will continue to be wrong and destiny 3 will show that
-
I played since D1 and I won’t be back for D3 if this crap continues, stopped playing since January. How many people still playing today actually paid for the game ? I’d guess a lot playing ATM got the game for free when Bungie was giving it away Because sales where so bad they needed to increase the numbers, you know it’s bad when they have to give the game away to get people to play it . Bungie is a business and it’s aim is making money If sales fall so will the business, like it or not this is what happens when the money stops coming in, and I don’t think the 600 k players playing now is anywhere near what Bungie will need to keep them in business. Time will tell
-
D1 beta player and I am done as well. They need to make some serious changes for me to come back. If this game was anything like D1 at the end of its lifespan I would still be playing.
-
Only problem. I’m one of the people you’re asserting will continue to play no matter what. I’ve got almost 5000 hours invested in this franchise and I’m am committed to not giving Bungie another dime of my money until this is fixed. I walked away from The Division 1 for less...and only playing The Division 2 because Massive fixed what I was objecting to. So if you think that I and those like me won’t drop this game if this pissing contest drags on, you’re fooling yourself.
-
Well looks like division 1 and 2 and destiny are all still here without you.
-
And yet....somehow....The Division 2 is the game that I wanted The Division 1 to become. Gee....I WONDER how that happened..... ....its a mystery.......
