How about presenting to the team to make 1 of 2 choices.
Choice 1. Continue to sow derision and malcontent. Continue to pursue cores as an "infusion currency". Fail to create more depth in the game
Fail to connect with your audience.
Choice 2. Remove cores from "infusion". The general consensus seems to be either (remove them altogether) or (the community is fine with cores being for masterworking). Listen to your audience. Gain good will. Gain a smidgen of trust (smidgen because ffs guys, this is rediculous). Also eliminate the doubling equation when purchasing from Spider.
