Hey all,
A few weeks back, we talked about Enhancement Cores coming from Gunsmith bounties in the TWAB. I wanted to give a quick update on this, as it also involves Mod Components, which have been a topic of discussion as well. Please note- this is all still in development for Season of Opulence, and could change.
• Originally announced in the TWAB, these bounties would cost Gunsmith materials. This has been changed to Glimmer.
• There will be multiple daily bounties to complete, each rewarding one enhancement core and two mod components
• There will be two weekly bounties to complete. These will each grant one enhancement core, one mod (Weapon or Armor), and other materials or reputation/rank points depending on the objective of the bounty.
• Note: When I say rank points, think Valor or Infamy, **not** Glory.
The team is continuing to evaluate feedback over mod components, enhancement cores, and rewards all up. Thank you for the continued feedback. We'll give you updates as we have them.

I'd still much rather just have them removed from infusion costs. The bounties are good for people wanting mod components but a weekly giving 1 core is so dumb. Complaints will always be here as long as they're in infusion costs and adding too many sources will defeat the purpose of them anyway. Instead of having them in Infusion you could allow them to be used to reroll perks on gear? Perhaps with a daily limit to prevent abuse?

Edited by JazzyPaladin477: 4/10/2019 10:22:05 PMCores for Master working = meaningful Cores for Infusing = not meaningful and extremely irritating It's as simple as that. It was a terrible idea. You broke the game by "fixing" something that did not need to be fixed. Enhancement cores were the answer to a question that nobody ever asked. For god sakes just please swallow your pride and go back to masterwork cores and we can all get on with our destiny lives.
-
Still not a fix. There is still a functional CAP on the number of cores that can be earned.
-
There’s no point in making a long post. Bungie F’d up as they always seem to do. People exploited the cores and the rest of us got F’d by Bungie’s ineptitude at testing. You now have to figure out how to make a level playing field. If you think you can appease the rest of us with a core here or there, you’re wrong. Own up to your horrible practices and remove them. You throttled XP and that was a cakewalk compared to this.
-
Remove enhancement cores altogether from all costs, add masterwork cores back into the game for masterworking items only, not infusion, and use the existing system to acquire enchancement cores to acquire the newly dubbed "masterwork" cores. Let folks exchange the old enhancement cores for glimmer or materials. It will solve the problem of the economy being imbalanced overnight and finally please the community on the cost being removed from infusion.
-
Competing a full raid should give you 8-10 enhancements cores. Public events 1. Heroic 2 Ascendant challenge 3 Strikes 15-20% chance Lost sectors/COMP-QP crucible a 5% CHANCE of dropping a core. Just saying.
-
It is very, very simple REMOVE CORES FROM INFUSION Would it be possible, for once, to do something that the community has been hounding you about for months without taking a few months or years to fix it? I know that this is not his fault, but these posts are a little frustrating. After all these years, now our opinions suddenly warrant more frequent communication?
-
I hope that this update is just a joke...
-
Sorry but this is not what the community has been asking for 7+ months. Please respect your players wishes on this matter, and remove them from infusion, and revert them to their intended purpose for masterworking. This isnt a difficult thing to understand.

Edited by frompa: 4/10/2019 11:15:54 PMThis is a nice addition to help the current problem. At the same time though, don't remove scrapper bounties, keep them as is and add this new option. Currently, scrapper bounties are kind of fun. You receive them unexpectedly and can decide to change what you're doing right then and chase one down. I do this all the time. I would rather see more variety in the cache it in bounty though. It seems to cycle the same 5 lost sectors
-
So now we get to grind for glimmer AND ghost fragments. Problem solved Bungie-style. Do you people at Bungie know what would let your paying customers play more parts of the game they want to play with the gear they want to use ? Remove "enhancement" cores from the cost of infusion. Bungie has been drinking too much of it's own koolaid if it sees us as a community. We are PAYING CUSTOMERS and we need to be pleased with your product or we won't buy your product again. All the sales psychology and time investment strategies in the world won't help Bungie if people can't play the game in the way that makes them happy. A customer feeling their money was well-spent still matters.

I love you

How is this "discussion" or a "conversation" when it seems so one-sided? It's not as if Bungie is having a "town hall" type feedback, or Q&A in real-time, or talking live on Twitch with real player input, etc. They know we're upset, they're putting out solutions *they* think are best for us. They aren't; in fact, the solutions are making us more upset because it seems Bungie really aren't listening and/or just doing what they feel is best. It is probably frustrating for both parties as a) perhaps Bungie feels constantly criticized and b) fans feel we are at their mercy, and we pretty much are, if we want to continue playing. Something has to give!!!

Enhancement cores shouldn't be used for infusion. I almost never infuse, just keeping higher power gear in my inventory. this means that I cant use weapons that I want to use for activities like iron banner because i don't infuse. And I NEVER Masterwork. It requires so many cores getting extra orbs isn't worth spending the materials. Now possible solutions: -Remove enhancement cores from infusion -Make enhancement cores more available through playing activities. (doing strikes/crucible give 50% chance of 1 core. something like that) -Make dismantling any gear have a drop chance. (Blues have 1/100, purples have 1/10, exotics guaranteed.) JUST PLEASE NO MORE BOUNTIES
-
Yeah, about that one enhancement core per bounty thing... I understand that you want enhancement cores to be rare, but... why? How does it make sense that an enhancement core is seen as the same worth as all of the following: 1) 5 vanguard tokens, 5 crucible tokens, 5 planetary materials 2) normal gear 3) powerful gear 4) 10 legendary shards In my opinion, the way forward is to just flat deciding how much an enhancement core is worth, and going from there. If you can get 1 enhancement core from a daily, then why not 5 from a weekly? Instead of having spiders cores double in value every time you buy them, why not just have 10 available for 100 legendary shards, but only once a week? Right now, enhancement cores don't have a set worth, because they are so easy to get in some ways and so hard to get in others. Just pick a relative value, forget artificial scarcity, and have the cores be worth a consistant amount. You know when cores felt best? During the Dawning, when you could get them fairly consistantly from just doing what you were doing. Go back to that feeling.

Fix the system. Go back to normal infusion. I haven't played since the new season started. Why? I'm sick of grinding for cores. I don't want to play with weapons and armor that I don't want to use. I'm not a Pvp guy stop trying to force me to play that way.

Why not...
removing

enhancement

cores

from

INFUSION???
Most of us understand what an awful position you've been put in DMG. You're caught between an investment team that has dug in it's heels on keeping enhancement cores in infusion, and a community that has dug in it's heels on the opposite side of said issue. The proverbial rock and a hard place. You will get some nasty comments no doubt, try not to take them personally. The community has been frustrated since September and they are going to jump on anyone with the blue Bungie badge next to their name. Thank you for the update. Keep us informed of what the investment team has planned, even when it's a truly terrible idea like the one you just delivered.(One core for a weekly bounty?) Are they serious with this? This is the answer to the communities dissatisfaction? S M H. I think we all know that there is only one solution acceptable to the community at this point and the investment team has no interest in giving it to us. Just please keep the dialogue going. Thanks

So what you're saying is..... you are not going to heed the feedback of these good people?
-
Could you please Remove this Xp Throttling known as Endgame Cores from the game. Much Appreciated.

I wonder why this has 0 upvotes?
Totally not being sarcastic.
Edited by CatMan: 4/10/2019 11:09:46 PMWe should be rewarded 2 or 3 cores per bounty. Not one. Spider bounties already aren't worth the hassle. Please beat some reason into the team. Infusion isn't meaningful and should be in the way that it is. And dear God I hope there aren't only PVP bounties. Edit: is this a discussion amongst ourselves? or is any of this actually being looked at by the team? Because the gradual changes are....why tho? Just go all the way with the cores buff. Also please keep in mind not all of us are sleazy and did the cores glitch....not that we didn't want to, but we didn't nonetheless.

Hello everyone, my names Hal, and I’m going to get downvoted for this but here we go. This is a great change! This shows that Bungie listens, how much, I don’t know, but they do. When Gunsmith Bounties were announced everyone was annoyed because they were getting rid of scrapper bounties, so they changed them to cost glimmer, and we all have glimmer, so what’s the problem? “Multiple (That means AT LEAST 3) Daily Bounties” - 1 Enhancement Core - 2 Mod Components (MC) If there’s only 3 bounties then that’s 3 cores, 6 MCs per character a day, so 9 cores and 18 MCs max PER DAY. That is 63 motherfreakin cores AND 126 MCs PER WEEK. Let me repeat that. PER WEEK. How in the frack are you all mad?!?!! You could masterwork 3 weapons and buy 12 Mods with that. And that doesn’t even count the weekly bounties.. Two Weekly Bounties - 1 Enhancement Core - 1 Mod - Materials/Reputation based on objective 6 Cores and 6 MODS per week! Like come on you’re telling me that’s not fair? So apparently getting a maximum 69 Enhancement Cores and 18 Mods per week isn’t enough and y’all are still upset? Remove cores from infusion where you could go do 3 easy daily bounties and then infuse it. All for some damn glimmer, the funniest thing is THE COMMUNITY HAS BEEN COMPLAINING ABOUT HAVING NOTHING TO DO WITH GLIMMER AND THAT WE HAVE TOO MUCH. Also, I left out the fact that the Hawthorne Weekly challenge gives you 7 enhancement cores. So that’s technically 90 possible cores per week..not counting the ones you sometimes get from dismantling weapons and armor. “But Hal, I only have time to play 1 character a week, so your numbers are 3x lower for me” Ok, that’s still 30 cores a week for basically playing the game, that’s enough to almost Masterwork 2 Weapons, or infuse at least 10 items. Not everything has to be Masterworked, not everything has to be max power. Personally, I have over 550 cores, and over 200 more in MW’ed weapons and armor. I didn’t use the Pinnacle Weapon exploit. I also have over 200 mod components and 6k Gunsmith mats I could buy more with. I just play a lot. I don’t need more cores or mod components, but I’m still very happy about this change. Just like all of you should be. I’d like to hear others opinions :)
-
And another miss... Just remove them, there is no reason for them to be in infusion.

These will each grant one enhancement core, one mod (Weapon or Armor), and other materials or reputation/rank points depending on the objective of the bounty.
One core for a weekly bounty? ONE FULL CORE? Don't be so generous guys, c'mon, that's insane! Also you're still not listening. Nobody asked for MORE bounties. Nobody wants to WASTE time doing them because of cores. Just remove cores from infusion and keep them in masterworking and we'll do those -blam!-ing bounties when we make the meaningful decision of masterworking a piece of our gear. Geez, how difficult can it be to grasp this concept? :sighs:
