Hey all,
A few weeks back, we talked about Enhancement Cores coming from Gunsmith bounties in the TWAB. I wanted to give a quick update on this, as it also involves Mod Components, which have been a topic of discussion as well. Please note- this is all still in development for Season of Opulence, and could change.
• Originally announced in the TWAB, these bounties would cost Gunsmith materials. This has been changed to Glimmer.
• There will be multiple daily bounties to complete, each rewarding one enhancement core and two mod components
• There will be two weekly bounties to complete. These will each grant one enhancement core, one mod (Weapon or Armor), and other materials or reputation/rank points depending on the objective of the bounty.
• Note: When I say rank points, think Valor or Infamy, **not** Glory.
The team is continuing to evaluate feedback over mod components, enhancement cores, and rewards all up. Thank you for the continued feedback. We'll give you updates as we have them.

487.9K PVE players yesterday, despite there being an event based around PVE. 426.3K PVP players yesterday, despite there being Iron Banner. Across 3 consoles these numbers are terrible for a game, and even then they could just be people that logged in, and this is down from the 800k+ in each when forsaken launched and has been around the same numbers for months now and this down from the...oh...14.3m players from launch... You guys keep digging that hole for yourselves as your player base continues to hemorrhage though. It will be that much harder to get yourselves out of it when other games come and surpass you, not only in the quality of their content, but in the response times to issues and involvement with the players. Hope you have something great planned for D3, at this point only your fanboys are going to eat up another shitty release with very little content and stripped out, dumbed down, lesser features.

Instead of removing from infusion, I'd much rather see an overabundance of cores. From dismantling to being drops from a NF or specific activity guaranteed. So much that you'd need to find a way to sell them for other materials or glimmer, etc. The spider sells them for shards. How about gunsmith sells them for parts?

However the bottleneck is harsh, and forcing people to play certain things that aren't ready to get people together for it is not a good idea. Introduce a new avenue for light leveling through glimmer. Purely a glimmer cost. At the very least excluding cores and equally hard to get materials/items. So legendary shards and planetary materials would be acceptable. Now assuming it is just glimmer, you can reintroduce RNG leveling. Only with glimmer leveling and since glimmer is abundant you can keep leveling this way. It allows players a means of doing it outside of activities, while also preparing them for them, but remains less efficient than running certain activities as you want. Though there's also the path of just guaranteed costs and gains you can take as well. Maybe both based on whether you have max glimmer or not. Having enhancement cores bring low rarity gear up would add to the meaningful choices the team wants the game to have also. Further than that, allowing mods and perks to be collected is another. Doing these things adds to the meaningful choices, and the overall progression at the same time. Making cores the center of attention for these things, and fixing the collections so players can use it even more so. Much more than forcing meaning into something by slowing down progression.

I got an idea how about Petra sells them for baron bough ... or whatever it’s called ... Settled then done . :)

Edited by Anzel: 4/19/2019 7:20:18 PMFirst, GFYS. Second, GFYS. Third, there is no reason why we need 99999 different types of imaginary fairy currency just to infuse one item. Fourth, there's no "economy". There's no way to trade and no market of any kind. Stop pretending there is. Lastly, GFYS.

Hey guys, while you're at it nerfing those PvP OP weapons, just remove those UP enhancement cores from infusion too. They have no place in that system.

Who else is excited for Borderlands 3?
-
Do you just cringe when they send you out with stuff like this? You had to know it wouldn’t go over well.

It has been an awful long discussion, thought brexit was dragging on,just do it!
-
Well congratulations, you deflected the criticism from cores to luna lol.
-
This one sided “discussion” has been going on since September 2018, the issue has only gotten worse. This is a game as a service, we are the customer, you have drastically changed a fundamental part of the product for the worse, what kind of service is that? I’d say a bad one. In my mind this is the same as if I bought a smart TV where use of the internet was free, then, some months later a patch was rolled out and all of a sudden I had to pay for that internet service.

It seems so typical "Bungie" to see so many orbs lying around... And then when the strike/match/raid is over, you find out you only went up a whole 1-2%! Doing "The Best Offense" triumph for the Oxygen scout....just to go up 2% for each strike is depressing. I know you don't want people to burn through your content...but to keep us chasing the carrot stick like this time after time is....depressing. All because you have little to no more content to push out to keep us engaged. For those fanboys who choose to jump in and say things like "play another game" blah blah blah....don't waste your time..... I love this game, period. But damn Bungie?? Why do you continually pull the same shit and expect us to sit and be content with it?
-
I believe it should be like this: Once a piece of gear ( Armor/Weapon) is upgraded to a masterwork you should be able to infuse higher light level gear into the masterworked piece of gear. Wich would play out like that: You like a piece of gear? Masterwork it! In this masterwork you now can infuse gear into it without any enhancement core. Makes your decision meaningful.

Edited by Doc Gaul: 4/27/2019 12:33:28 AMBungie please read a few book on motivational decision making because if you think I will be motivated to grind for another pinnacle weapon in Destiny 2 or any future Destiny franchise you would be completely wrong. You guys might be good game designers but you suck at what motivates a player to continue playing this game. I used to think Activision was Bungie's problem - I was wrong, Bungie is Bungie's problem. What ever fool or group of fools made this decision please fire them, Sears needs these people's help. This was a dumbass decision made by an idiot or idiots. Good luck with future version of this game, you're going to need it. I not so sure my money will be invested in future Destiny Games. Oh I forgot, I hope and pray that more players feel this way because you guys obviously don't get it.

How can expect them to change anything they can’t even get a bounty right with no vex being on the tangled shore. It’s funny when a bug that helps the players is detected it gets fixed right away but when one is known about the affects completing a quest it “cant” get fixed right away , how about remove vex from the bounty and put cabal , or is that to hard?

Lol there’s a discussion? Where?

Edited by DownyKitten: 4/25/2019 11:29:40 PMSo hive in the game increase their power by defeating powerful enemies. Why don't our guardians work the same way? Beat a strike boss for the first time and you Highlander some power from it. Nightfall bosses earn a little more, raid bosses earn you more than that. Etc etc That kind of progression would be both truly meaningful and impactful. And players could ensure theyre ready for the next big raid by completing all current content.

Edited by Necrogen: 4/26/2019 3:43:39 PMDMG04, To you and all the devs. The game is a grind looter shooter right? Let us get equipment to grind. Just like D1, our equipment will level up. Cores will replace motes of light and will be used to masterwork the items. The closer D2 is to D1 the better. Each sequel is supposed to build upon the foundation of it's predecessor. You guys don't commit to this philosophy 100%. Do this and this issue should be quelled. All those left around will complain just to complain. Seriously...people live on the forums just to do that. Lock the topic out. There's really nothing more that needs to be said. You all have the tools and the solutions right in front of you. Let's get this done.

Even with iron banner and revelry event going on ATM , and with some logins being counted 2/3 times the numbers don’t look good do they ? https://destinytracker.com Time to wake up Bungie fix ur game so we can all enjoy , surely that isn’t asking to much

Make spider bounties better, because right now literally nobody does them. The ones that cost 3 ghost fragments should reward 2 enhancement cores, and the ones that cost 4 fragments should give 3 cores. Currently they all give 1 which is not enough, and the more expensive ones take longer despite giving the same amount.
-
Like some people said, with the inclusion of these Bounties you should check the ones already available too, the Spider ones will be less meaningful and probably harder for the same reward. Enhancement core economy is looking fine for me right now with the plans but Mod components and/or weapon parts isn't, I spent practically all my savings of weapon parts for a good Erentil which I didn't get yet and all the rest on mod components to buy the ones of Black Armory, we really need more ways to get more mod components at least to my point of view. Also What happens with the Tangled Shore material? Will it ever be useful? And what about legendary shards?
