Hey all,
A few weeks back, we talked about Enhancement Cores coming from Gunsmith bounties in the TWAB. I wanted to give a quick update on this, as it also involves Mod Components, which have been a topic of discussion as well. Please note- this is all still in development for Season of Opulence, and could change.
• Originally announced in the TWAB, these bounties would cost Gunsmith materials. This has been changed to Glimmer.
• There will be multiple daily bounties to complete, each rewarding one enhancement core and two mod components
• There will be two weekly bounties to complete. These will each grant one enhancement core, one mod (Weapon or Armor), and other materials or reputation/rank points depending on the objective of the bounty.
• Note: When I say rank points, think Valor or Infamy, **not** Glory.
The team is continuing to evaluate feedback over mod components, enhancement cores, and rewards all up. Thank you for the continued feedback. We'll give you updates as we have them.

Don’t know about you lot but the cores ain’t a problem I thinks it’s those who play the game honestly maybe stop infusing shit an just look ugly till your max cap then infuse????
-
Obtaining bounties with glimmer - yep all good. Multiple daily bounties for one masterwork core and 2 mod components - yep Two weekly bounties is fine but for ONE masterwork core and ONE mod component! The added bonus of rank/reputation points isn't the focus of why people would want to complete the bounties. They are completing them for the MW cores so for a weekly bounty that I'm sure will require more of a time investment, the reward should be comparable to the effort required. If this was bumped to 3 to 5 MW cores then players potentially would respect the time requirement. As an aside, MW for weapons should be a costly investment since the impact of that stat can have a great impact on gameplay. It would be nice to have the ability to re-roll the masterwork but I'm sure this is to prolong the "god roll grind" to find the right roll AND masterwork for a given weapon. MW for armour is less than useless in game currently and far too expensive. Attempting to balance the MW economy with the introduction of these bounties is good however the reasons to MW armour are little to none.

Weak.

Edited by agrunner: 5/1/2019 6:44:09 PMCan the idea of enhancement cores dropping from public events on the flashpoint planet be considered?
-
I honestly don't care anymore, but wouldn't a discussion involve an exchange of some sort?
-
Ya all don't understand that Mike from Management came up with the enhancement core idea. No one at the time was going to argue against him in fear of retribution so they all went along with it. Now if you remove them Mike will no longer have any viable contribution to the game so guess what, they will stay forever or until Mike retires.
-
I don’t believe you guys understand. 1 core does nothing. It take at least 2-3 to infuse items so that’s just not gonna work. Remove them from infusion! They don’t belong in the infusion process of the gun if it’s not masterworked.
-
Remove cores
-
Use cores for masterworks only. The game has more than enough grind without requiring them to “level up”. Really enjoyed The Taken King and Rise of Iron. Forsaken could have been just as fun. Those expansions kept the hobby from being a chore.
-
Nobody wants to do bounties for enhancement cores. If doing scrapper bounties wasn’t fun why would changing the name to gunsmith bounties make them fun? Instead add them to weekly milestones as end game for after you hit max light. They’d be farmable by doing most activities and makes the milestones worthwhile after hitting max light. Also, as most have stated, consider taking them out of the cost of infusion altogether. I’ve masterworked one set of armor since Forsaken before realizing that that was a foolish waste of cores. Nearly all my masterwoked weapons are from curated rolls because I’m afraid to use them on anything but infusion. Does that sound like fun to you?

And as the great ship Bungie sailed into the sunset with the crew and passengers screaming "Iceberg!....Iceberg!....". The captain Whistled and sipped his Rum and told them all to shut the hell up, laughing his ass off because he knew best.

Over 3600 comments on this thread, over 4000 on the previous thread Bungie posted and still silence from their side. I guess y’all feel like your previous statement was sufficient, but it was sorely lacking. Otherwise, there wouldn’t still be this kind of response happening. Bungie, you can be better than this. Or maybe we just need to face the facts - you can’t.
-
I haven't played in months because of the enhancement core system is so shit and I won't play until they're removed. Bungie has become such a bad developer it's embarrassing.
-
Y'all know this thread is just to contain all the core hate right? They don't give a flying -blam!- about what y'all want

Edited by Nectum: 4/22/2019 7:41:25 AMJust close this thread already and open up a new one called "Enhanced discussion about cores" Let us continue the "meaningful" and "impactful" discussion there
-
How hard is it to listen to thousands of players saying “take cores out of infusion”! But then again “BRAIN dmg04 LIFE” is our middleman !!!
-
Edited by name: 5/1/2019 9:15:43 AMremove cores please ASAP , the game fix has been 8 months overdue now
-
Edited by TheArtist: 4/29/2019 12:17:45 PMhttps://destinytracker.com/ PLEASE....tell me this isn't true. That this isn't true, and you guys aren't standing around and allowing this to happen, because your pride won't allow you to admit that cores were a bad idea. Please.
-
Holy -blam!-.... just get rid of the -blam!-ing things already. It’s not that -blam!-ing difficult. We don’t give two shits that Bungie wants them in the game to slow our progression. The only ones that the cores hurt are those who do not play the -blam!-ing game like it’s a full time job.
-
The problem with them is they should NEVER have been used for infusion. ONLY for masterworks.
-
More shit nobody wants!! Get rid of cores!! Hell, get rid of planetary materials as well. Nobody wants to farm this shit, so giving us more ways to farm cores is NOT the damn answer!! Get it through your thick skulls! Tl;Dr: No more cores!!
-
Tbh the cores are horrendous but no worse then all the other stupid materials the game has they are in such a quantity that it becomes confusing and a boring grind just to add a few numbers to your light level.. Obviously we need some of them so I do understand the use but to have so many different things actually puts me off playing the game
-
Edited by Obileekenobi: 4/30/2019 8:46:08 AMSeeing this post increasing every day with ‘remove cores’ is frustrating, now over 3500 and still no ‘discussion’, plus the first threads 3000 plus! You are not going to remove them, just say it out loud, tell everyone to shut up, it’s your game that WE all paid for and God forbid we ask for changes to make it FUN. FFS.
-
Quit playing the game by now- discussion is over.
-
You realise this is the same as spider bounties right? You didn’t implement any actual change to the system

Edited by joshiban: 4/30/2019 8:28:12 PMWHY are we still talking about cores?!? This is mind boggling... how about some uproar on lack of (new) content? e.g. running through a forest, I mean spring garden, i mean whatever it will be next time around, is not fun. Dont know about you but I am sick of this constant "grinding". It is a total waste of time, especially on pinnacle weapons which only get nerfed later on. Seriously ENOUGH with the cores. Spend your allowance responsibly. Geez..
