Continued Enhancement Core and Mod Component Discussion

Hey all, A few weeks back, we talked about Enhancement Cores coming from Gunsmith bounties in the TWAB. I wanted to give a quick update on this, as it also involves Mod Components, which have been a topic of discussion as well. Please note- this is all still in development for Season of Opulence, and could change.
• Originally announced in the TWAB, these bounties would cost Gunsmith materials. This has been changed to Glimmer. • There will be multiple daily bounties to complete, each rewarding one enhancement core and two mod components • There will be two weekly bounties to complete. These will each grant one enhancement core, one mod (Weapon or Armor), and other materials or reputation/rank points depending on the objective of the bounty. • Note: When I say rank points, think Valor or Infamy, **not** Glory.
The team is continuing to evaluate feedback over mod components, enhancement cores, and rewards all up. Thank you for the continued feedback. We'll give you updates as we have them.

  • To the hardcore d2 player. Next time you have issues you will need a almost 5k forum for your voice to be heard. It's not about removing cores, the issue is how crappy they treat the community (YOU) during the process. they ONLY get feedback from YouTube streamers lately

  • Just started The Division 2. It’s nice to play a game that respects my time. That’s something that Destiny 2 doesn’t do and if you ever get back to it, then I might return.

These will each grant one enhancement core, one mod (Weapon or Armor), and other materials or reputation/rank points depending on the objective of the bounty.
Reading over this and looking at most of the vendors in this game that don't have an inventory like Ikora or barely an inventory like the gunsmith that use to have a better inventory in y1. Or, rarely get an actual update giving a fresh inventory other than Tess. Is it safe to say D2 has become a bounty game now vs D1 that actually had a loot system? I don't mind grinding for loot and it's nice being able to purchase items like I was able to in D1 using the vendors as they were intended for, but this game has become more about grinding bounties, cores and running repetitive content more than necessary to collect power engrams that turn out 9 times out of 10 another duplicate than an actual game to grind for loot as it was supposed to be created for. IMO, Bungie really needs to drop this bounty nonsense and actually create a loot system worth the time spent in this game. This is not a "hardcore" gamers game. This is not a "casual" gamers game either. I don't know what this game is and I believe Bungie doesn't even know anymore either. Bungie had a chance to turn this game around to head it in a better direction when Forsaken released. What happened to creating (meaningful content) giving gamers a path to enjoy their time spent in this game like D1? (To make Meaningful choices in this game there has to be a variety of choices to even come to that conclusion.) I'm not a developer but it doesn't take brain surgery to see this game is too limited in just about every single aspect of it that it barely gives you any choices. I'm not saying D1 was perfect by all means, but D1 didn't feel like the second job going nowhere and nothing to show for it. I can literally spend an hour in D1 right now and get rewarded for my time spent playing that game. Even running bounties. Or I can spend an hour in D2 wasting my time playing running useless bounties, power engrams because you/Bungie don't want to respect my time playing your game that most bought to play, not because they wanted a second job.

Here's even a quote from the text:
“We don’t want the focus to be on constantly chasing a higher Gear Score,” either, “when it should be about finding a play style and build that you enjoy.”
Maybe you guys should take some notes, and do what they do, and actually listen to your community.

Mod components adquisition is rather hard for people that cant grind/farm materials and legendary shards to buy them off from Ada-1. As well as a really small repertoire of mods, different mod perks would be appreciated and its still worth mentioning that elemental mods was really a great system that helped players feel comfortable with whatever gun they liked instead of having to use one specific weapon that might not be to your liking just because its the only available for their weapon type (like having an ikelos smg with void mod was great on gambit and switching it to solar to go against cabal on strike, it was really an enjoyable experience). Cheers, Ion Edit: grammar

        • With your continued failure to take action.... Maybe we should all call this "the season of impotence". Instead of the season of opulence. Flacid, short on substance, uninspiring, the only direction it's pointing is down... Name fits.

        • If we are going to have discussion try listening to the community have you ever heard the saying “you have two ears and one mouth so you should spend twice as much time listening as you do talking”? Because you need to start listening.

        • If there's not enough, people feel shorted because they ARE being shorted. If there's an abundance, then what was the point of having them? -blam!-ing pointless arbitrary nonsense is what they are. Thankfully, the community at least guilted you into the later. Push the envelope with these things just a little bit further by removing them entirely. Your experiment failed sirs.

If you take the time to actually read most these replies Bungie you would notice a theme. We don't like Cores and your player base isn't as easy to eat what every Poop sandwich you deliver . I haven't played for ever and many a person I know has quit destiny 2 . But if you truly wanted to save your game , then Join the God Damn Discussion . Talking to a wall Pro level . SMH

This thread being a sticky with close to a staggering number of replies is a clear sign of passive aggressive behavior of either Bungie as a whole or certain individuals over Bungie’s communication channel towards to its customers.

          • It's awesome that the studio dropped the new Outbreak quest and from everything I've heard, it's one of the best things you've all done. I wish that a silly decision like the hard stance on infusion hadn't pushed so many of us away already. I will probably still try the mission this weekend, but no matter how great it might be, I have no desire to continue leveling in the punishing and toxic environment "meaningful" Infusion has created. Having to grind to use something I already earned isn't meaningful, it's just awful when we can't. Content and experiences are meaningful. Playing with friends is meaningful, but that's tough when either none of them play anymore or the game is so rigid in forcing play that we are punished for playing what we like or helping out friends. Happy for some positivity from the studio and game, but still mystified at the response to all the feedback you've gotten here when population numbers are far below year one at this juncture.

            • 3 Enhancement cores should drop with every level up after 50. 9 easy ones a week per character, and players who play more get more after that. Or all powerful drops give cores if you dismantle them. If you're at max light, or get a drop in a slot that you don't need a upgrade for then you at least get cores out of, the dismantle.

            • You make some valid points and i agree that eververse must be removed from this game but, Whether we wanted it or not, we've stepped into a war with the Cabal on Mars. So let's get to taking out their command, one by one. Valus Ta'aurc. From what I can gather, he commands the Siege Dancers from an Imperial Land Tank just outside of Rubicon. He's well protected, but with the right team, we can punch through those defenses, take this beast out, and break their grip on Freehold

            • Its sad that anytime I feel like playing D2, the first thing I have to do is go run bounties on the Shore, to earn enough currency to buy bounties that reward cores. Then go do those lost sectors.....again. (you'd think they know better by now) just to earn a couple of cores. Levelling up towards 700 has been a ridiculous grind. Every level cap has, for me. And being forced to use weapons and armor that I don't like, or burn through tons of cores to keep my favorites pertinent, is just tedious. Why are you being so stubborn about this mistake?
