Destiny 2: Warmind, Concept Work
This is a selection of early work I created during the Destiny 2: Warmind project. These represent early explorations of NPCs (Rasputin, Ana Bray, Nokris, etc), enemies, and themes created when the narrative direction was still in it's infancy. Most are loose sketches, unfinished works, and IP warm-ups. I left the studio during this time so these are a window into the ramp-up period of a new project.
-Dave Phillips
This art is... Epic! It tells of an exciting story that never happened every time I scroll past it!
If this was actual early concept art drawn by an artist at Bungie, I would say it's a shame that most of it seems to go unused! It's very "wild" due to breaking what we normally expect from D2 and when we compare to what we actually got in the expansion.
If this was fake, this is an amazing artist at making destiny fanart of highest quality and I would save a copy of his art still!
However, this probably not fake because all images have above average quality, contain the watermarks, and the artist provides a good explanation in his page for why we don't see in this in the actual game. Therefore, there is no doubt that this legit.

This artwork is amazing. I love how the guardians and hive armor, and the locations are all different from what we usually see in Destiny. If they based the story off of these designs then Warmind might've turned out a better dlc. But sadly they didn't, and now I'm upset because we could've gotten better than what we have now.
I'm gonna cry in my corner now...so...yeah
One of them looks like Rasputin has sort of a pseudo body. That would have been nuts.
-
They are all fabulous And should all be included across D2 & D3 in the future (even if reworked for new characters etc) The dark menacing pathway is one that D3 should definitely walk down Step away from the cut/paste cartoon that is D2
-
That needs to be put in the game. Looks awesome!
-
Honestly some of this stuff should be in the game, looks amazing...
perhaps you could join the void...
-
That armour looks so badass. Seriously. I would wear some of that shit.
-
Its styles like this that are what made destiny 1 so much better. The armor in d2 is just so mediocre.
-
Well its not a Bungie artist who made those I can tell you that much. Not the usual stye at all. Looks like a Vicarious Visions artist did that. Glad none of that concept art found a way in game, those concepts themselves look horrible in my opinion. The art itself is great though.

Did the dead guy remind anyone of the thing on the Queen news of the world album or is it just me
-
I think its work from someone within vicarious visions. because piece of concept ACTUALLY looks as cool as destiny sounds, on paper

A new beetle race / hive variant?
SIGN ME THE -blam!- UP
That one Hive guy with worms festering around his neck and inside his mouth was......very pretty ^^''
-
These are incredible
-
That's awesome. And, you never know when bungie may pull it for future inspiration.
-
This is why you don't get a job at bungie as a art designer, your art never gets used
-
It’d be so dope if any of this was in game

Edited by Golden: 4/8/2019 5:04:51 PMSo much fan made shit that looks cool and could be implanted in game but all bungie does is re skin
-
Saint-14 looks incredible
-
That's some crazy lookin armor.
-
Ana looks old. All else is super cool. It has bungie and destiny at bottom maybe as a sign of trademark. If an employee published this then i would ask who owns the ip and publishing rights.

-
I drew that while I was on the toilet lmao
-
Thank god none of that armor ended up in the actual game, looks even more disgusting than what we already have. Those skeleton spacesuit guys look cool though, reminds me of doctor who.
