Why was Destiny 1’s armor so much better? What happened to knights and wolves and fire for the Iron Banner gear? Or the Egyptian style trials gear? Or the cool glowing ornaments for Crota’s End armor? The list goes on and on.

Titan helmets are too small, except the one with the wing things. It makes them look like pin-heads. Hunter cloaks are mostly raggedy and torn. I use an old one with no perks instead. Hunter masks make Hannibal Lector look good by comparison. Warlock coats are either nice exotics with lousy perks - sidearm, blunt stick, spitball, slingshot - or ugly with mismatched perks - sword/pizza, scout rifle/dog leash, machine gun/iPhone. In D1 my hunter was dressed all in shiny gold. In D2 she's strictly Walmart clearance. In D1 my Titan was all chrome with gold accents. In D2 he's got a trash-can helmet, a tire around his middle, pink tights, and sneakers with holes in them. In D1 my warlock radiated smoke and flames. In D2 he has a man bun, a wrinkled coat with a belt that won't change colors, and work boots like the ones I just threw out.
