Let's suppose we all eat at an Italian sub shop. And for the first three years of it being open, their food had it's up's and downs, but improved overall with time. Near the end of that third year, they started talking about an expanded menu. And the people who had been eating there, for the most part got excited. When they released that "new" menu, while there were a few positive changes, and the food remained "good" overall, it was definitely a step backwards from where it was at the end of their first three years. But, they seemed to be open to suggestions and throughout the next year, they made adjustments here and there, regaining some of their former glory. Then year 5 comes around. Year two with the updated menu. And they decide to add beets to their classic Italian sub. A staple, something that people were pretty happy with overall in previous years. Beets. And not just a few. A WHOLE giant layer of beets. No way you could have the sub without beets. So people complained. About the beets. And in every response regarding the beets, the owners refused to truly address the issues(makes the bread soggy, doesn't really go with the original sub, etc), but rather keep offering condiments, to cover up the beets. Rather than offer them on the side, rather than make them something special for the people who either don't care about beets, or like them for whatever reason. They just ignore the critiques and double down on having beets as part of their classic italian. Understand something. If you have no issue with that type of change. Even if you like that type of change. The people who liked it the way that it was, or who see it as being forced upon them. They aren't "whining". They aren't "trying to get their own way". They just don't like -blam!-ing beets. So yes, they could eat somewhere else. Yes they could pick the shit they don't like off. AND they can address the issue with the people making the sandwiches via a big ass suggestion box posted out front of the -blam!-ing store. So please, do everyone a favor, and make thoughtful arguments for the things you like, even if others don't, but for cripes sake, stop trying to belittle people by saying there isn't a problem. The fact that people are discussing it as a problem, in great detail, shows that at least for some, it is in fact an issue. Thanks...
