Can I borrow your time machine :) Cores can in no way impeded progression. If you put every higher light item in the vault and infused nothing you would still progress. There is no requirement to infuse anything or use alternative weapons to do anything but tier 3 reckoning, maybe 100k nightfall and doubtfully iron banner. It just has zero effect to get to 700 light or play the game.

Honestly the change in bounties is going to hurt players overall, I say this because I bet you 10 bucks that I can get more scrapper bounties done in a day than however many new bounties the gunsmith will offer.
