Other developers are actively using them as an example of what NOT to do. It is a shame. If Bungie pulled their heads out of their asses they could have something really special. And they wonder why it never became the "universe" that they had envisioned...

This led up to the disaster that was D1Y1. I don't think they ever really got over their failure. This Allegiance quest is looking like an attempt to set up antagonistic factions in the player base.
