Besides the obvious ones like Gwyn and Saren from the first Mass Effect are there any other characters that you felt sympathy towards or even felt bad defeating?

Jet from FFX
-
The End MGS3
-
Over the years, I've come to feel sympathy toward the Didact from Halo. He just couldn't catch a break.
-
343 Guilty Spark.
He just wanted to protect his ring.
-
Solas from DA: Inquisition. The fact that he’s doing what he’s doing because he has to and is genuinely rooting for you to show him he’s wrong or another way out makes the ending an emotional roller coaster. In my opinion it topped ME2’s ending (ending- not the final mission as a whole) because it had a similar sense of foreboding, but the reapers were just an all powerful force coming to kill us- I understood where Solas was coming from and his motivations. And he understood mine.

There isn't an antagonist as well written as The Boss.

Dedede Dracula The Boss

A man of no consequence. Ardyn Izunia. Seriously, Square Enix has made me feel so bad for Ardyn in Final Fantasy XV that I oftentimes feel sorry for killing him at the end. Sure, his only desire was vengeance upon the Crystal and the Chosen Hero, but still...

Crossbreed Priscilla and Big Girl Sif from Dark Souls

Edited by Gandhi 2: 2/25/2019 6:46:48 PMGotta be my man Arvis, he wanted to create a better world, but he slowly become more and more morally ambiguous as he was manipulated by his friends, until his dream was gone and he had nothing left but a lot of people wanting revenge on him.

Daud from Dishonored. Especially after the DLC. I spared him before the DLCs released. His assassins talking about him and the sincerity in his final words.
-
343 Guilty Spark He just wanted to protec his space laser.
-
Aksis, Oryx, The Didact (Halo 4), Handsome Jack (BL2), Dagoth Ur (Morrowind), Almelexia (Morrowind), and Uldren Sov.
-
Definitely Handsome Jack. Red Hood/Arkham Knight. And Anakin Skywalker (LEGO Star Wars TCS)
-
Saren from Mass Effect was an asshole long before he got indoctrinated so he gets no love from me.
-
The Ender Dragon

I felt a little bad for a fair number of atagonists in Soul Sacrifice, most notably Sortiara. I felt bad for Magusar but not for killing him. The guy was too far gone and had to be taken down.
-
I'd say Mr. Oshiro from Celeste. The poor guy was trying his best to be a goid host, but of course a certain someone felt the need to be harsh on him.
-
Pretty much any enemy in Call of Duty 2: Big Red One. Those 'things' deserve sympathy
-
Magus from Chrono Trigger.
-
None because they’re all terribly written now and I don’t know.
