Scorned Baron profile: Yaviks the Rider

AKA: Yaviks the Hoss/ Yaviks the Untamed Where Yaviks came from or how she became one of the Barons of the Scorn remains a mystery. What we do know is that she and her Pike Gang, comprised of Fallen remnants of old Houses, bandits and lone-wolf nomads that Yaviks had given them a Pike and a purpose in exchange for their allegiance, had caused untold amounts of chaos across the asteroid field. Some of her more notable acts include the Dead River Run, which saw eight Awoken camps destroyed, 489 Awoken killed, 83 allied Fallen encampments infected with poison and forced the Awoken into the Mayhem incident with the Barons, and the Raze of the Ziggurats, where six awoken temples were destroyed with no survivors. Her last notable accomplishment was her run through the Ragged Valley, a hollow length that runs between a series of asteroids on the far western edge of the Tangled Shore. The “valley” constantly shift from the asteroids that crash and scrape against each other at complete random. Only two have managed to successfully clear it; Yaviks and Marcus Ren, the latter of which took four attempts to pass it. Though many Guardians choose to dismiss Yaviks’ success to not give credit to she who had killed many a Guardian, though Yaviks doesn’t really care what they thought. The only approval she sought was that of her Scorn brothers and sisters. Like many of the other Barons, Yaviks would be captured and brought to the Prison of Elders by Cayde and his Six. Unlike any of the other Barons, we do have information of how Yaviks was captured where Cayde had beat her in a race. In the Prison of Elders, Yaviks swore revenge on Cayde, and she would get thanks to Uldren during the Barons breakout. Like the rest of the Barons, Yaviks fled from the Baron’s hideout in the Tangled Shore because of an assault led by the Guardian. Yaviks fled to the Boil where she had planned to break Cayde’s Sparrow racing record, supposedly as an additional middle finger to him. Though, the Guardian would intervene with, using one of Yaviks’ own sparrows to chase her down and blow her to smithereens, keeping Cayde’s record intact.

A terrible excuse for a rider, ironically more mechanically inclined than the Naked Machinist as the Rider uses an actual machine/vehicle to fight. Yaviks, who abandoned all passion to race, would've been more difficult if we had to race her as she would've been in 1st place for the majority of the time since we'd have to dodge.. let's see.. a poison trail? Well, that doesn't seem right. Anyway, It would've been more of an interesting fight we had to race the rider and had to damage her racing on a linear track, dodging the flaming exhaust. There's too much emphasis solely on our weapons and abilities, that we forget vehicles are also in the game and should be utilized as well. It would make for far more interesting and unique fights.

    • Combat strategy: Blasted her Pike with 3 shots from a Sleeper Simulant and made Scorned S'mores with her
