Title. Is your enjoyment of Destiny at all dictated by what gear you see other players using?
-
lol half of that 64% are lying their asses off! Too many ppl crying over LH/NF for that to be true! LoL This forums hypocrisy knows no bounds....
-
Normally, no. In Crucible? YES. One-Eyed Mask sucks. Luna's and NF are a tad frustrating. Running into a Titan with OEM and Luna's in Comp when I'm trying to get my OWN Luna's at 1300 glory? INFURIATING GAAAAAAH ×[×^÷[[×[×<÷^÷,(#['!!!!
-
I just get bugged by seeing the same weapons over and over again in crucible.
-
It's all about completing the set, or getting the roll I want. For me, I could care less what someone else has.

Edited by Riven of a Thousand Waifus: 2/15/2019 1:09:56 AMWhen I load into PvP and see a one-eyed mask with Not Forgotten and Dust Rock Blues, I already want to quit before getting curb stomped by them even once. Outside of crucible, not at all! The game is great, in my opinion. It’s just fun
-
For me I don’t care what anyone else uses. So spam Luna and Jötunn or whatever. The only affect it has on me is it tells me what to for.

While I stubbornly use whatever weapons feel good, and whatever armor I want, I do get rather bothered by other players sometimes. Those who just sprint through a strike, making a mad dash for that loot chest at the end...I just don't understand. If actually doing a strike is that bothersome, then are you really enjoying the game at all, or are you in it just for the virtual slot machine? Likewise, those with absurdly powerful builds just absolutely devastating everything, leaving nothing to shoot at. At that point, it just feels like I'm a lame puppy being dragged along. Strikes quickly get very boring when you encounter this type of play so often, and the only other option is Nightfall, but I don't always have friends online to do them, neither am I gonna go out of my way to get a meta-build to try and solo them because what's the point in playing the game if I'm not playing it how I enjoy it? I just wish that strikes felt more like 3 player activities than they currently do. In this way, yes, what other players do can and does hamper my capacity to enjoy playing the game at times. However, I'm not going to use the most meta weapons and armor rolls just because it can kill something in 5 seconds instead of 5 and a half. Can't comment on PvP because I do not play PvP in games with supers/ultimates/CD's/whatever.

No, we all got the same shit. I don’t have a Luna’s and it would probably up my k/d if I did but I don’t want to be a try hard either. Nobody likes try hards.
-
When all your friends get Jotunn/Monarque before you do despite the fact you have double the forge runs then they do, it starts to get bothersome.
-
For me... It's somewhere between Yes and Somewhat. I see people with TLW, and I couldn't give 2 pinches of shit in a puddle of piss because I don't PvP. I saw people with Jotünn (in PvE) , and I was like "Dayum, that looks like fun". I also see people with Geomags (which I still don't have), and I want them... Not because it's a case of "I want what they have simply because they have it", but because I want to play with the Exotic that makes the new Warlock Subclass the best it can be... To experience how it may or may not change the game experience for me. I also still need Shards of Galnor, but I'm not so worried anymore because they've been nerfed even before I've had a chance to experience them. I guess it comes down to identifying something that makes the game more exciting for you, and sometimes, through seeing someone else using it, it helps you to appreciate it more... Or not... Depending on what you find interesting or exciting in the game.

Not the issue at hand but ok.
-
Not exactly, but for me, there’s a line in the sand that I cannot cross, and when Bungie spends most of their time building content on the other side of that line, that takes away from my enjoyment of the game. For -blam!-s sake, spread the love. Every thing either requires some form of PVP, or going into a Raid ( which Bungie knows most players aren’t able to access ).
-
If anything, seeing things more commonly gives me more motivation to grind for them.
-
Nope.. I do get tired of like 90% of ppl in PvP using the exact same load out. Just makes for a stale experience. But it doesn't make me rage or anything.
-
Pve: Nope. I love what I use in pve, and it works for me. Pvp: Yep. Getting dropped in 3 shots by a handcannon that is just better than every other handcannon in its class, and 99% of handcannons out of its class isn't fair, nor fun. Conclusion: I hate warlocks
-
It is mostly prevalent in the PvP side. As someone who was playing Destiny since 2014, I usually had this problem throughout both games. The difference is, that I came to Forsaken VERY late(since I thought the base game was trash). But since I am late, I am behind on the current Meta, and am currently going through hell just to handle myself in these modes. Crucible is the worst it has ever been, and Luna' s Howl(on console at least) is almost required to do jackshit in PvP. I am not a high enough level to handle Black Armory, and my clan no longer plays the game so I can't exactly do raids effectively. So, I have no real access to weapons I want so it isn't as enjoyable to play against those who do. But, I am pretty happy with my Last Word and my Ikelos_SG as of now. I just wish that some weapons were nerfed so I can actually stand a chance in PvP, but I don't really mind in PvE.
-
Only in so much as certain weapons making certain play modes unpleasant
-
Partly...PvE? Nope not at all, you can use whatever you want. PvP? This is where it affects other people, I absolutely hate playing Mayhem now as it’s just full of Hunters spamming Blade Barrage non stop with Shards. So because of Shards in Mayhem my enjoyment has gone down to zero. That’s the only time it has really bugged me, players can use OEM with Blue Rocks and Not Forgotten for all care as that doesn’t bother me one bit
-
12.8% said yes. 87.2% are -blam!-ing liars.
-
Only in 2 situations: 1) If I were playing PvP and consistently losing to a gun I knew I'd do well with (I don't PvP, so that's mostly fine) 2) For things like a good roll of Threat Level, where I actually want it for my "ideal" loadout, and seeing others with it blinds me with jealous rage.

The only time I get somewhat irked is when said person is rubbing said item in people's faces. Trust me, its happened. A lot of people in this community still act like they're in Kindergarden. "Look at this toy I have! You can't play with it!" is all I hear when people act like this. Not saying names, but I was doing LW once and this guy (more like kid) had the Dreaming City ghost shell and 3 of us on the fireteam only need that ghost for the title. So he pulls it out and starts literally putting it in our faces, acting like a child would. I really wanted to kick him from the raid, but I didn't have the power to do so. The kicker, he got the raid sparrow at the end of that encounter and the 1k Voices from only his 3rd run. Could you imagine how much worse he acted? Normally that stuff wouldn't bother me (someone having something you've been spending months grinding for), but this guy is a stuck up elitist CHILD and when people act like that, then it bothers me. Other then that, I don't care. I congratulate every person that gets something rare. Its a video game afterall. But when people act like THAT? Yea no.
-
My enjoyment is what I choose it to be. If I want to play Escalation Protocol with Nova Bomb and Dire Ahamkara; I’ll do that. If I want to play crucible, sure. But for the most part I just play what I enjoy most. Recently it’s been Gambit. Is there something wrong with me?
-
Somewhat because it has been 6 months I play 5ish hours nearly every day and I've only gotten 2 exotics from YEAR ONE that I already have it's irritating and all I want Is the queen breaker
-
Nope if anything it’s a good incentive for me at least. Never saw a outlaw rampage bygones for a season, spent 40 matches for breakneck and finally got a 10/10 roll Weapons and drops on other players just give me more want since it means if they have it, I can obtain it as well. And ya know what, 2 seals down and blacksmith is on the horizon, all my dream guns (comp included: mostly mountaintop cause I hate Luna) and I’m still going strong. So show me your best, I want more fine additions to my collection.
-
I had to vote "no" because I know what you meant with the poll. Seeing somebody else with some piece of gear I do not have or am incapable of getting has never bothered me in a video game. WITH THAT SAID... I ALWAYS get excited when I see a fireteam member get something cool. Even if I never get that 'object', I'm always happy for the other person. Even if I'm running strikes with randoms and see something drop for one of them, I hope it is something they really want. :) It's just the way I am.
