so the next 6 months are going to be hard for bungie and destiny. while i dont believe destiny is going anywhere, i do believe it will take a lot of hard hits regarding player base. some will leave, some will play both games, some will never leave etc. so im gonna give bungie my thoughts on how to weather the storm and try and make the game better for ALL OF US!!
1) you need to bring elements of destiny vanilla. now before everyone loses the mind please read what i have written(all of it)before commenting. the smartest thing luke smith ever did was make vanilla, it boosted the player base and kept casuals coming back. now we have a lot to do in the game we need to make it appealing for anyone who wants to play it. things like the infusion system, if you want to keep cores then take out another element say the planetary resources. then have eververse or xur or who ever sell cores for 500 units a piece. when doing the blind well or escalation protocol let petra or ana announce to all on the planet that its happening, that way people can go there and the people doing it dont get frustrated due to no one bieng there. destiny is a big enough game for smaller bounties etc and the hard core ones. people coming back or for the first time need a way to slowly get back in to it,but also feel like they are getting somewhere as well. a purpose will bring back alot.
2) eververse and the shop at bungie.net. these need serious overhauling. if your planning to keep eververse then offer more yes thats right more. make it worthwhile for people to buy. better shaders new sparrows and ships, more weapon catalysts, exotic bundles for example luna faction boots and huckleberry. some people dont want to grind for ever and this is simply a choice. you dont have to get them, it wont make it so you cant finish the game if you dont have them. even god rolled weapons will sell but make it worth the money if people want to pay. and the store please please please update the thing. if something out of stock remove it till you get more for example the art prints have been out for months now, same with the gambit necklace. dont make the shop set and forget
3)crucible matchmaking, i know your working on it but do this right or as best you can. a stack isnt a bad thing. just because a group gets together and communicates better and has a plan, doesnt make them terrible people. it makes them organised this is a community attitude that can change with your guidance and support. comp point distribution can be adjusted to a fairer amount even win or lose. someone shouldnt lose a few hours work in 3 matches.
4)the community as a whole should be your go to place. ive never understood why you go outside to reddit or others to hear us. after a long time you are now starting to listen and do something with the community. dont alienate the players for the streamers and top tiers etc. listen to ALL OF US.
trust me when i say NO ONE wants to meet the devs team and play gambit with them. we want them to do thier job and create which brings me to
5) stop reskining and create create create. the loot pool is on the shallow end and needs a serious boost. technically black armory only gave 6 new weapons the rest are just recolored ones. make more and make them different , make them exciting, make people want to get back to the grind. you created a universe with lore that makes most Hollywood scripts cry like a baby, yet you cant design new guns and armour????
6) release a statement about your past sins. right now every move you make is looking like a desperate plea for us to stay. you were quite for too long now your clutching at straws. release the statement acknowledging the past mistakes and then tell us that the new bungie is here to stay and not just cause you lost activision and anthem and a few other titles threaten to take the players away. the past is the past you made a few bad decisions, we all have now like us you have to own up and step forward. but dont you dare NOT MEAN IT. we the players have had our patience put to the test for a long time now. you wont get some back, but others will if you do the right thing
-
Anthem is in no way a destiny killer it's a different beast entirely....if I feel like shooting guns I'm definatly not playing anthem destiny is still one of the best fps games in the world.
-
Honestly if they want a player base bring back grind. Make it hard to level -black armoury was 2 -3 weeks to hit 650 all characters without raiding! Make raids relevant to levelling again. Take drop rate of exotics back to forsaken and people will keep grinding. Don’t lower power levels like the forges or the content is over straight away. New loot instead old d1 loot would be good too

I stopped there... You're asking to turn the game into a P2W and that's an instant down vote.

GET RID OF MASTERWORK CORES FOR INFUSION
-
The next six months are in the can as we speak. They are not going to change and they are likely all as poor as black armory or worse. Yes it will be some dark days ahead for Bungie.
-
The next six months are already laid out in the so-called Bungie road map. They are going to drip feed the meager content they already have developed. The REAL test will be the six months from June to December 2019. My bet is Bungie simply drops future content from the Destiny franchise and just lets it die. Bungie has no source of income for Destiny and no financial support from a publisher. They also lost the two satellite studios they had working on D2 content as they were brought onboard by Activision and they left with them. Bungie has their new $100M contract with NetEase to produce another title. That is where the Bungie resources will go.
-
Hey who let the nut out of the nuthouse?
some will play both games
Both Destiny games? Some other game and Destiny? Destiny and the classic board game Risk? WHAT MAN TELL US FOR THE LOVE OF MUNDUS! Bungie listens to Reddit more because Reddit isn't as much of a toxic cesspool as this place is. Frankly I can't really blame them for turning somewhere else. Please try organizing your thoughts before making a post.
-
I don't understand why people keep posting these long lists of suggestions. Bungie hear you but they aren't listening.
-
Oh boy have fun with this post, I have been warning people for 4 years now about the player base dwindling. It happened major time a couple months ago, but even the more dedicated not so hardcore players are thinking of leaving. However I myself just got this game in jan, got 100 hours in so far. I like it and I hope they fix some things down the line. Take my bump. But have fun. Lots of the community now are super hardcore elite players who don't have anything going for them outside of logging into destiny.
-
I know my future if I choose to stay, looking like a hobo for weeks while I grind for cores each season. That’s a pretty big list you have there and many of those suggestions are needed, my feeling is very few if these will be addressed down to complexity issues.
-
Also, TELL US NOW what the future is and how Destiny 3 is going to work. I’ll tell you now though, if we need to start the game AGAIN from scratch only to reacquire the same weapons for a third / fourth time, I am OUT. Please, please don’t be as arrogant as you have been and take consumer feedback onboard. You can’t blame Activision any more.
-
This game is not a popular, its population is bottom of the barrel. I really suggest playing other games
-
Talking of fair matchmaking in a casual 6v6 mode is forbidden. Might as well be dirty language.
-
The real test is what they make after the Annual pass has run its course.
-
What they should have done was duplicated what they did for PvP in Halo 3. What a collection of options and choices. Holy smoke. If they did that, PvP could carry this game easily after PvE content dried up.

Edited by Stygames2: 1/28/2019 6:42:19 PMThat is true. When it comes to PvP, I have made some ideas for how they could rework it to make it far more user-friendly and engaging: Matchmaking + Rank -Added cross-play to PvP -Slightly increased aim assist for console players to keep balance between them and PC players -Removed Competitive playlist -Removed Valor and Glory ranking -Ranking will now equal the amount of players you outrank in KA/D Ratio and W/L Ratio, and the ranking will be named "Triumph Score" -Triumph Score will only apply to those who have completed at least one Crucible match -Matchmaking will try to match you with players between 250,000 of your ranking (If you have 2,000,000 Triumph Points, you will be joined up with players with as low as 1,750,000, and and high as 2,250,000) -Players can now select their ideal matchmaking settings: gamemode (control, clash, rumble, survival, showdown, breakthrough, rumble, countdown, 1v1), gameplay pace (casual, core, hardcore), and matchmaking type (solo, standard (being in a fireteam automatically locks it to "standard")), and matchmaking will prioritize matching you up with players who have the same settings (more on that below). You can also turn these settings off if you want matchmaking to take less time -Casual gameplay will be disabled once your Triumph Score is at 1,000,000 or higher or higher -Matches will be 6v6 in core gameplay, and 4v4 in casual and hardcore gameplay -Players who are in the Top 15% of the Triumph Score leaderboard will only be matched with players within the Top 15% and EXP gains will be increased by 33% -Triumph Score will be account-wide to a degree (As the Triumph Score of your character with highest Triumph Score in your roster goes up, it will go up for your other characters, too, but if certain characters don't perform as well, they will still follow your better character up the leaderboard, but will have less Triumph Score overall) -There is now a setting called "Auto-Cancel", which will turn ideal matchmaking settings off after some time of waiting for a match. This can be toggled on and off, but when toggled on, you can set the amount of time you want it to wait before it auto-cancels (minimum of 30 seconds, maximum of 3 minutes) Matchmaking Prioritization This is how matchmaking will priotize match-ups based on rank and matchmaking settings: -Ideal gamemode: 30% -Gameplay pace: 90% -Matchmaking type: 70% -Ranking: 80% Note: While matchmaking will take more time, and matches with your exact preference will not be guaranteed, you will get your ideal match for the most part Quality-of-life -Matchmaking will try to match you up with players within shorter distances first to reduce wait times and Internet worload, depending on how far away other players are -The host of a match will be kicked if their connection drops to game-breakingly low (to compensate for times when this is not in the player's control, quitter penalties will only begin the moment it happens a second time) -Improved stability of server connection as much as possible -Private Matches now use dedicated servers Pinnacle Weapons Quests for Redrix's Broadsword, Luna's Howl, Not Forgotten, and The Mountaintop will have the following changes made: -Removed quest steps that involve getting to a certain ranking -Quest steps will now be progression-based, and will have more ways to progress, but certain, harder ways will speed it up a bit more -No longer requires playing in hardcore mode to progress Persistence -Added a progression meter to PvP called "Persistence", which goes up as you complete matches, win matches, get kills, get assists, and earn medals (non-win completions are worth .33%, wins are worth 1%, kills and assists are worth .15%, medals are worth .50%) -Once your Persistence reaches 100%, you will be rewarded with 10,000 EXP, 5-10 Enhancement Cores, 2 Powerful Rewards, 7500 Glimmer, and 10-15 Legendary Shards -Persistence will reset back to 0% on the weekly reset to allow players to go for the sweet rewards once more -If your character is at its maximum Light Level, the Powerful Rewards for getting 100% Persistence will have a significantly higher chance of coming out as an Exotic

Edited by Grendel023: 1/28/2019 1:45:54 PMI honestly hope Destiny 3 is a total reboot as that is what Destiny really needs. Destiny 3: The Untold Tale, needs to start out with a mother closing a fairy tale book she is reading her child at bedtime about fantastic stories of the Guardians. Then the real story starts, a game not made for 4 year old's, a darker more engaging and struggle filled story. I know there is struggle in Destiny, but it all feels so kidish and comical, making things a little more hard edge wont stop kids from playing and we need real open world, struggles to get off world, we need to build and find more powerful ships, side quests for factions which make choosing a faction more meaningful and a real decision. I want to play and learn about lore, not read about it, I'm not saying get rid of all the reading, I know a lot like it, but its a video game, if I wanted to read I would buy a book, let me live the lore. Let me explore the last city on earth, I see it from the tower but I can never go there. There is just so much more they could do with this game. I want to take back earth, open up new towers, what happened to the rest of the world? Also where are the animals would our invaders not introduce new species to our planet or would our animals evolve into more dangerous versions of themselves , just saying there is so much more they could do but they leave it as a shallow hollow game with no real answers or real depth...

Edited by Kouz_MC: 1/28/2019 3:40:59 AMThis new generation is full of idiots. Read before you write a wall of text, you might learn something. For instance, 95% of the playerbase is gone 14 months ago and never came back. Another news for you: activison didn’t trust Bungie to be able to ever come back. Fact! So what happens when a business loses its banker and its clients? You’ll learn this in a few years when you’ll start studying economics.
-
You lost me at destiny vanilla. What a stupid -blam!-ing phrase. Why do people just parrot dumb shit that doesn’t actually mean anything? Well chocolate sucks too, it’s all about the caramel you deeebs.
-
-
What is this Mickey Mouse bullshit in front of my very eyes. Appeal to casuals rather than hardcores? The ones who actually find the flaws of the game? And actually complete all their high tier activities? More vanilla? MORE EVERVERSE? C A T A L Y S T S FROM E V E R V E R SE WH AT THE F. UCK.

Edited by l09047: 1/27/2019 8:43:30 PMsince when did evervese offer
more weapon catalysts
i disagree with most of what you wrote but thankfully bungie wasn't going to make these changes anyways. You basically said -vanilla d2 is a good thing... - more eververse/microtransactions - team stacking against solos is a good thing in the crucible -tell ppl your sorry
