Once Bungie is fully released from the shackles of Activision, I would love to see the ability to play with your friends, regardless of which platform they are on and to allow a single, unified account with your three characters attached to it. This would mean that you could purchase the game on however many platforms you would like, but your characters would always be the same, and you could also play with whatever group of friends you want, whenever you want. This could be achieved by having the user link and/or sign in to their Bungie.net account with the player's current choice of platform (PC, XBox, PS) once they launch the game for the first time. Think of something similar to what Ubisoft does with their Assassin's Creed games and their online user accounts/profiles. No more would be the days of grinding 6-9 different characters on 2-3 separate platforms simply because some industry and publishing leaders say that you're not allowed to do that (with a little bit of technical difficulties mixed in).
-Cross-platform fireteams should be limited to PvE-only activities by default for console players, with the option to turn that restriction off. Similar to how PUBG and Fortnite are setup (I think, I've never actually played either of those but I hope you get my point)
And secondly, NO MORE PLATFORM-SPECIFIC EXCLUSIVES!!! This would actually have to happen first in order for cross-platform play to be possible when you're talking about fairness in gameplay.
Final note- I do not expect, or even think it's possible, for Bungie to be able to implement something like this anytime soon, or even during the lifetime of Destiny 2. But when Destiny 3 comes out, I, and many others, will be very disappointed if these two things (along with many others) are not implemented on day one of D3.
Please upvote in the hopes that someone important at Bungie will see/hear about these suggestions and wonderful requests. ;)
Congrats Bungie on your recent announcement, I am so happy for you and for this community! See you starside, Guardians.

Edited by BoyarD: 1/13/2019 4:31:53 AMJust because they parted with Activision doesn't mean they will to have cross-platform compatibility. It's all up to Sony (I think Microsoft was fine with the idea). I know they have done it in the past so it might be a possibility.

It’s nothing to do with bungie so not sure why you have posted? They don’t control cross platform! Sony do
-
Nah, PS can keep its exclusives as long as Wavesplitter still exists. As well as what always seems to be a terrible Crucible map.
Though the Strike(s) always seem good somehow.
-
I agree with no more exclusives but I say no to cross play.
-
Now that they're independent exclusives are definitely not going anywhere because they'll need the capital for development.
-
cross saves i dont care. cross play no way.
-
Sony will most likely not allow cross platform of any kind and they will push to prevent it from happening. While it’s sad it has always been this way with the platform currently in lead, Microsoft did it last generation and Nintendo never did it untill this generation.
-
Xbox will crush players in gambit and crucible against PS4 players. That’s just the facts
-
Posting about Sony exclusives will do nothing for you here.
-
We have all said this probably a million times before.
-
Then convince Sony to allow it. It is not a Bungie issue, it is a Sony issue. Microsoft is already trying it.
-
I feel like they should at least make it so you can make a fireteam without a subscription. Just no Strikes, Raids, Crucible, or Gambit.
-
Nah. Not interested.

I agree but would not want to pvp against pc players pc destiny is easy mode
