Poll: Content Creating
So, some users have expressed distaste at my reposting of satire. Some have even gone as far as calling it an unoriginal gimmick and spam.
What do y'all think?
On the subject of it being a gimmick and spam.
[spoiler]It is neither.
The definition i pulled for gimmick comes from wikipedia: A gimmick is a novel device or idea designed primarily to attract attention or increase appeal, often with little intrinsic value.
First. What i am doing is neither novel, nor designed to attract attention, nor too increase the appeal of the post. mainly because anyone can get on the onion, babylon bee, or any other satire website and post here. Two, it can not be to increase the appeal of the post, because it is the post. If anything the title of any post is a gimmick. If you want to argue that it is a gimmick because it fulfills the definition in some way, so does every post here. So either every post is a gimmick, or mine is not.
On the subject of being spam
I pulled the definition of spam for the purpose of the argument.
Spam: irrelevant or inappropriate messages sent on the Internet to a large number of recipients.
• unwanted or intrusive advertising on the Internet:
This comes from the New Oxford American Dictionary.
First thing first. This is OffTopic, so the only things considered irrelevant here is content that belongs in other sub-forums. Next, the content in my posts is by no means, inappropriate for anyone above the age of thirteen, which is the minimum age requirement for bungie.net accounts.
My posts are not unwanted or intrusive, as shown by the support they get. You have the option to click on my posts and no one is forcing you to click on them.
Lastly, they are not advertising. I don't post the name(s) of the authors or websites in obtrusive manners. I only include the hyperlink so no one gets any ideas that i had the time, or the mental capacity to write all of those.

[/quote] Again, trying to deconstruct a definition you found convenient really doesn’t prove anything. It doesn’t make your posts more original. It doesn’t make them any less spammy. But if we are gonna play the dictionary game, I can name at least one person who doesn’t want these posts. Me. If you can’t take criticism, that’s on you. But if you’re gonna whine about it in a post trying to get your shitty gimmick validated, you’re gonna have to be prepared for a whole lot more of it.
