Lot of Reading Ahead:
So the first Iron Banana of the new season has started and while I don’t normally run it, I like to get every piece of gear at least once. So this time it seems at least a bit worth it, plus seven powerful engrams for those fairy simple bounties is very nice.
Discussion:
As for the balancing and gameplay, how does everyone feel? I know people don’t like control but to me, it’s a classic almost essential for Iron Banner. I haven’t seen a whole lot of Luna or Bygones in my ten matches for the day, which was surprising, but in a good way. I thought Blast Furnace was gonna be making an appearance but not a lot of that either. But maybe you all had different experiences, please share whether it’s positive or you wanting to rant. That’s what forums are for.
Negative Feedback:
Only thing that got on my bad side was the choice of control maps. Control is a zone holding game type, which means team work is key. However, when given maps that are a bit cramped, you’ll tend to find that power plays occur a bit too often on both teams. It’s not always terrible, since it’s usually just alternating. I just feel like maybe the rotation for a six-player per team playlist should keep the smaller 4v4 maps out. As to kind of increase use of teamwork to get that final zone and not have those quick firefights where all of one team is wiped and the winner gets all three zones before the team can gain footing again. I always felt like Iron Banner was meant to be more like strategic not Comp/Quick with a different loot pool.
Positive Feedback:
I wanted to save my positive thoughts for last. I really like the new armor set, not too flashy and out there like the last few sets have been. As usual they don’t really bring back that nice vanilla set from Destiny 1 that I miss dearly, but this is still a very good set. Also, really hoping they’ll bring out a Machine gun this season, it’d be a great time to see the old Jolder. I missed the variety in Heavies, so bringing those beauts back is great. It’s better than only seeing Grenade Launchers everywhere.
Again, feel free to share feedback on this event. This has gone better than usual for me so I wanted to share. Thanks for reading if you did

I've been enjoying it so far. I play with my clan and I've been rocking a new setup because of the impending telesto nerf. (Cue the hate lol) So I've been running Wish Ender and a Main Ingredient with backup plan and targeting adjuster instead. It's been awesome being able to call out precise enemy movements to my team with Wish Ender and if I get into trouble a quick swap to Main Ingredient deals with shotgun apes since I can pretty much immediately pop off a blast. Iron banner takes teamwork and a good loadout strategy, it always has. Anyone that's complaining either doesn't have a strategy, chooses to play alone, or dislikes the small maps (understandably). Improvise. Adapt. Overcome.
