Seriously. It’s Japanese folklore that far predates the third Reich.
1.) Izanami’s full name is “Izanami no mikoto” (she who invites).
- if you do your backwards spelling magic now your little tantrum makes zero sense.
2.) No. It could not have been a differed “word”. The story of Izanami and Izanagi is in regards to the creation of Japan. Izanami is the Japanese goddess of creation and death. This ties very nicely into a Japanese forge which creates weapons.
3.) By sundering the name of a Japanese goddess with the third Reich YOU are doing FAR MORE than Bungie EVER could to offend people.
4.) By making light of an event so tragic that it shaped the direction of humanity YOU are utterly misguided and in a severe need of growing up.

Edited by TattooedOni: 12/20/2018 5:07:49 AMYou realize this is a feedback to Bungie forum and not a complain about other people forum right? Since you decided to show off what google taught you I’ll go ahead and respond to your post. Even though it’s likely she was the inspiration for the forges name when Bungie took the name and removed it from the context of the folklore it becomes a word they named a forge. It may be referential but Destiny isn’t a recreation of folklore with Izanami as a character. 1) Thats not the name of the forge on Destiny. 2) It could have easily been another word or name and fit just as well and be referential. Inari Okami is an obvious one. If they named it Inari forge suddenly there is no controversy. There is no reason to insist it MUST be Izanami. I’m not saying change it now, but clearly they should have changed it then. 3) This is way over dramatic. Almost no one in the West had a clue about Izanami yesterday unless they study Japanese culture and mythology. That’s probably less than a thousand out of 13.5 million players. Now people are making fun of Bungie because they made a dumb choice. 4) They are making fun of Bungie for choosing a word that could be so easily corrupted.
