Huge idea I just came up with. To add another reason to do the forges there could be a special item you can by from Ada-1 that you can choose one of your weapons or armor pieces, complete a forge which is randomly chosen after gathering 50 or so radiant seed, and then the item will be rerolled with different perks! This will allow players to fully work their entire load out to their playstyle as well as letting them keep their highest gear while switching it to perks that would be actually useful. The reroll mechanic was available in d1 for a decent cost and re-adding it to d2 would allow for a new level of endgame content that would keep players coming back again and again to build that perfect loadout. There would still be the grind to get the weapons in the first place, but would allow a level of character customization that destiny hasn't seen since before taken king.(if I remember correctly..) I feel like the tech is already there with how you can purchase a weapon frame to attempt the same weapon again for a different roll. So why not add a special item that locks one of your weapons or armor pieces until the forge is done to reroll it's perks? The forges have far more potential that just the bland options that they are right now, this would be a solid step towards an endgame that the players control how they play the game without having to rely entirely on a chance to get a specific weapon or armor only to have a chance to get specific rolls. The possibility of being able to control your gear directly with re-rolling it to get the perks you want is something I personally would absolutely love to see in the game and would definitely keep me coming back again and again to get the best weapons and armor pieces I can possibly get.
