Here's something from my inactive ass.
Hey all, this is a short poem-esque dialogue between a guardian and there dying/dead ghost. I wrote this while listening to a piano and vioin duet called "Time Forgotten" by Brian Crain/Rita Cherpurchenko. For added dramatic effect, please do read along while listening to the song, it sets the mood for this sad bit. Enjoy, you can search the song on either spotify or youtube
My Ghost
Arno
My friend
You can't be gone
Not now
Not forever
You gave me this life
Found me there
Saved me
A pie of bones
Nothing
But you drew a spark in me that day
One that cascaded against the cosmos
You helped me light a path
From the Traveler to the Moon
To unearthed secrets on this very planet
You helped me
My guide
Teaching me more than any scholar ever could
I could never go on without you
I can't see a path beyond this moment
This gift of life I feel I can never return to you
I miss you
My Ghost
My friend
Arno
My Guardian
Echo
My friend
Sorry to leave so soon
I know it felt like I'd be here forever
And that you needed me
But really
I needed you
Before you I had no purpose
No goals
But to find the light that could shine with mine
It was like magic when it finally worked
A great hero buried beneath dust
Forgotten by time
You shined brighter than I ever could on my own
You are a star that burns bright
And my light was your kindle
So you just go on ahead
As I doubt I could pass the trial of finding another guardian so great
You've set that record high
Far beyond the cosmos and further
My light guiding yours
So never
Never forget
As bullets fly and your heart burns on
When you feel as if your soul has learned something new
When you call out and hear that soft response
That is the gift you gave me when we first met
And now
I'm returning it to you
My Guardian
My friend
Echo

I actually read it to the music. *sniff* Good stuff! Minor nitpick (typo):
A pie of bones
