I was a hunter main since d1. I now have leveled my titan and warlock and played the subclasses a good amount.
comparing class ability to class ability, the hunter dodge feels like it's not as useful.
- it's a one and done ability where as the other 2 last for a decent amount of time.
- dodge barely dodges projectiles and doesn't dodge melee attacks (this really gets on my nerves in challenging pve content)
-the dodge doesn't change your positioning..as a titan I can get out of the way or get to places quicker with shoulder charge. i know that isnt a class ability but its weird to me the hunter dodge is in animation only..doesn't really cover any distance or get you out of the way of danger.
-the other class abilities can affect the fireteam and I like that:
-warlocks can provide healing and overshield to the team or extra weapon damage
-titans can put up a barrier that shield teams from damage or blocks their teammates rocket (lol)
titans can even do a barricade that continually reloads ur weapon while providing a bit of protection
-Compare that will the hunter dodge which only reloads once.
Hunters need a true class ability and make it something that bungie wont have to keep nerfing to fit the game.
it should also grant a temporary perk for the hunter and team.
I have an idea,, why not treat invisibility like icarus dash?
change its activation to crouching momentarily for all hunter subclasses.
invisibility doesn't break aim assist any more so it wouldn't be OP in pvp.
I'm not saying dodge is useless, I have juked ppl in crucible, managed to get to cover using it, it's just not as reliable as it should be when compared to other classes class abilities.
