Bungo keep it up, focus on making great games and the results will follow.

So far I have seen nothing that would make me come back to this mess. Thought I would pop in. Same old BS. Glad I dropped this game. Bungie will never ever see an $$$ from me again. So disappointing how they completely ruined what could have been a great game.

Greedy? I don't think a business trying to make money to (a) pay its overhead (b) pay its shareholders (c) raise money to invest in new products and (d) make a profit is greedy. Have you ever employed 600 people? Do you know the monthly overhead of a company that employs 600 people? It's over $6 million dollars a month. People sell games or people get fired, it's really that simple.

Edited by the_finalfantasy: 11/13/2018 3:26:57 AMi meeean yes, forsaken is good.. the game is A LOT better now. but damn, bungo burned so many bridges with the player base. - remember festival of the cost a couple years back? - constant game droughts throughout destiny 1 - destiny 2 year 1 end game - focus on the casual player - light level disabled for trials and iron banner (more emphasis on the casual player) - 4 player crucible - destiny 2 year 1 no random rolls - easy loot throughout destiny 2 year 1 which lead to the rarest loot coming from.. - eververse - last year’s dawning event (more focus on eververse) - curse of osiris (still upset how royally they messed up an expansion about ‘the best warlock’ in destiny history, osiris.. all that good hype about him in destiny 1 and he ends up being a throwaway dlc in destiny 2. screw panoptes, osiris should have been the final boss for that expansion or had his own raid with new egyptian armor and guns.. u would of won with that idea bungo, u would of had it) warmind was a good start but that story was kinda trash. R.I.P. charlemagne.. u’ve been retconned

If you think this is the epitome of a greatness, then your tastes are severely diminished.

I hate this type of definitive ignorant who comes out on the forum throwing bullshit and lies. I really hope you’re a child or early teenager to be throwing non sense and ignorance the way you do. Reality check: - Bungie is sole responsible for letting go Nathan, giving Jason Jones authority when he knows nothing, and lying to the players hiding the true situation the business was in pre D2. - Activision has given Bungie more money, more time, more share of revenue, and more flexibility. - even after this horrible year in whic Bungie screwed up at every single possible level, Activision continues to believe in Bungie and gives them time and leeway. Idiots like you should STFU like massively, just continue to hide under a rock and leave reality to others. But please for god sake stop bullshitting, it doesn’t make it true

It sadly won't save this franchise. The damage is done. No one is gonna win. Not Bungie, not Activision, and especially not us, the consumer, the player. It's the sad truth.
-
I think Activision gets to hear the sales numbers, and then decide whether or not the project should keep going forward. That's it. They're a wallet. The fact that you guys STILL believe it's them, and not Bungie trying to secure their WALLET permanently, tells me you just don't understand either Corporate Business, or just general situational awareness. Nothing wrong with this game is on the part of Activision. Eververse works PERFECTLY FINE. It's everything else. The UI? Yeah, that person had a 3 week Christmas vacation, as well as 3 weeks paid holiday leave. The AI? That person said on Twitter "Making games is hard guys" The gunplay? "Oh it was meant to be 0.04%" Their Boss? "Let me show you some emotes, they'll be throwing MONEY AT THE SCREEN" The only thing enjoyable about Destiny is the Artists making it. I sincerely hope they aren't getting contracted and sub contracted for these greedy idiots, because they'd be world famous if they drew for Marvel/DC. That being said, take time to reflect on this game and compare it to titles like Red Dead 2. Because it's a perfect example of long time frames to make a game, but shows a complete opposite example of good employees versus lazy idiots That alone should tell you enough.
-
True. But that's because shareholders are greedy, and if you don't meet their expectations----in terms of increasing the value of their investment in your company-----they pull their money out and invest it somewhere else. So shareholder behavior and expectation, unfortunately, drives corporate behavior. ....and the typical investor in a video game publisher like Activision is NOT a gamer. So the dance is trying to please both investors and customers...which is what Activision tries to do. Or just seek to please the investor and DARE the customer to go somewhere else (because you have a monopoly on a particular product)....which is what EA does. I don't think Activision will change the nature of Destiny. But I do think MTXs will become a bit more of a presence in the game....and they'll also try to speed up the cycle of content delivery that they can charge for. Also what they are doing with offering the base game for free to "lower the cost of entry" to the game....and the risk associated with trying out the game.....is very smart marketing.

Forsaken is a mess, for every good change there was another bad one, it's brought Destiny to a place where its future is looking far from certain. Activision are just dealing with the predictable consequences of making an expansion that's aimed only at a small portion of the player base and treats everyone else with contempt.
-
At release D2 was a complete mess. Bungie then spent the next 12 months backpedaling, blowing a lot of money on fixing their poor decision, money that wasn’t in the budget. That money has to be accounted for. Shareholders will want answers from Activision, Activision will want answers from bungie. So what’s happening? In eververse I’ve noticed weapon skins for sale, cost £8.50, expect to see more of this.
-
Activision expects a return on their investment plain and simple. When a game/DLC fails to meet expectations and fails to "engage the veteran player" then ATVI has every right to be "disappointed". A game in a "stable place" is not called out in an earnings call as "disappointing" for not retaining veteran players. A game in a "stable place" does not remove the nomenclature of an exotic perk because Bungie either cannot or will not fix that perk. A game in a "stable place" does not insult the player base by stating that they "misunderstood" the idea of using MW Cores for infusion and proceed to just "rename" them when the vast majority of players wanted them removed from infusion.
-
Do you work for Vicarious Visions, High Moon Studios or perhaps Bungo themselves, because D2 is a far cry from a good game, and Forsaken really did make things better. Infact some are worse, aka the Infusion System.
-
Nah, I think the crucible is in a terrible spot. That's primarily why people aren't sticking around. Matchmaking is definitely horrible, there's a ton of pvp option with a more level playing field, with developers that actually update and patch weapons weekly not every 4 months
-
Nah. It's really not. There is a vocal minority of people who are actively trying to shoot down anyone who says a word against Bungie, and failing. The majority of people are expecting change with the black armory. If they listen to feedback they've received about xur, about matchmaking, about exotics, about rewarding players for time committed, then yeah people will probably keep playing. I don't like Activision. But they aren't wrong. Bungie made some good decisions, random rolls, weapon slot changes, new supers. They also made bad decisions. Some of them catastrophically bad. And once more they're back to saying "We're listening" instead of doing something about them. If Black Armory is just more of this same behavior that people rejected and eventually abandoned Bungie because of, no, Destiny is not in a good place. And it could very rapidly lose everything they fought to regain if they don't take a look into what is working, vs what is driving people away.
-
hell no forsaken is WAY too grindy, killing off fun way too early for most players just to satisfy a small hardcore minority
-
Well clearly the results aren't following, and clearly the games can't be that great if they're not selling
-
Everyone get your cameras out, we have an extraordinary sight indeed. A member of the BDF in the wild. Truly remarkable.
-
For one; Activision has always been greedy, not just started to be. Two: Forsaken fixed alot of problems certainly, but it is by no means the most stable place. Three: if you aren't concerned when Activision makes a statement about incoming microtransactions to Destiny you're a fool.
-
Also to anyone who disagrees with this post........ah why are you even on the forums or still playing?
-
Funny how this happens after blizzard pissed off investors and Diablo players.
-
Bungie did their job in fixing a very badly damaged franchise and brand. Activision thinking that there wouldn’t be a price to be paid for last year was unreasonable. Now that being said, Forsaken still has significant problems that need fixing. The content is great. But there are still game systems that are poorly designed and need fixing.

Activision are cash hungry simple and plain. They simply want more in game revenue. IN GAME.
-
Wow. Just wow. OP makes a positive statement about the state of Destiny and gets shot down in flames. Why are you people still playing and haunting the forums? Anyone who can't see that Forsaken is a massive improvement from a year ago should just GTFO. Is it perfect? No. Is it worth £35? Hell yeah! I've tripled my gametime in D2 since Forsaken came out. Value for money and entertainment is all I'm looking for. If that makes me a Filthy Casual then I'll wear that t-shirt. Now if you'll excuse me I'll get back to the Shattered Throne. One of the best activities Destiny has delivered.
-
I fully agree. I am for the 1st time, along with my friends enjoying D2. My friends are all slowly returning to D2. Its fantastic.

As long as they continue like they did with forsaken, I will be playing. Continuing dlc and destiny 3 needs to follow the path they are on. I said the same thing on this forum after The taken king....rise of iron was good but then destiny 2 year 1 came and ruined everything. Then osiris dlc was horrible. For once maybe they can learn there lesson and continue down this positive path. At least, one can hope.
