I'm not saying that tracking needs to be as aggressive as it was with Truth, but rockets are in need of a tracking buff. As of now tracking is almost non-existant. Please attempt to find a middle ground here, even if it means a slight decrease in damage. (Which i do not want, but would gladly accept the trade-off. )

Right now the tracking is just strong enough to make sure that your rocket turns just enough to not hit your target and also not hit any piece of map around them that might result in a splash damage kill.
-
All they have to do is add grenade and horse shoes again to fix it.
-
Nerf the recent velocity buff given. It was given to ensure that tracking couldn't compensate, Targets could side step easier. Or it will "pass," right though, ot hit behind because it did. A deliberate Buff given to nerf a weapon. SHADY af.

Edited by blade329: 11/12/2018 10:54:59 PMI thought it was my imagination or lag, but it does feel like tracking isn't what it used to be. If they nerfed it, I will be really angry. That's my go-to weapon in Gambit, especially for guardian kills. They probably did it under the radar. After getting blasted for the Truth nerf, a while back, they probably don't want to advertise their more idiotic nerfs that make no sense.

Tracking rockets work best when leading your target hard scoped, which to those that are to young to understand; means looking down sights and putting your crosshair in front off your target and not directly onto the target! Second to that, the higher the trajectory the better so that if the rocket missed, the rocket hits the floor near them which maximises the chance for splash damage! Third to that, but most importantly, practice leading targets in PvE and set your velocity and blast radius accordingly, personally I always preferred high velocity over blast radius as it was more reliable to my playstyle! (Jump high, quick scope in front of target, job done!) It’s not the weapons that are the problem in this game, it’s player attitude that fail to understand that skill comes from perseverance and the simple fact that Bungie is failing to grasp how the game is supposed to work as intended when they built the PvP the way they initially did. Write down on paper just how many weapons have been messed with and the PvP as a whole since launch, but that’s what you get when supporting a game that was built purely to maximise the buck and not the players experience, shite game!

Lol it's really not at all as bad as you make it sound. I've seen some of the tracking and it's crazy sometimes. Plus in PvP and gambit, especially gambit, there's so much going on that a rocket fired at you across the map probably won't be noticed until it's too late. I know I for one can't even see the damn thing till I'm dead.

I truly believe Bungie has added an RNG element to Tracking in 2.05.x update. I'm finding about 30% or less of the time, it will actually track the target you locked on to. The rest of the time it simply doesn't even follow the target, even if it simply steps 10 feet to the left or right. There was a huge thread that 800+ people upvoted on this, which was promptly moved to (and buried in) Feedback.

We need horseshoes to come back. And truth needs to make a return
-
So...if you were to put a tracking module on a rocket that already has tracking does that make it then a super tracking tracker rocket? :)
-
No. Tracking is just fine.
-
I tracked onto a couple Taken goblins earlier. Moved SLIGHTLY off to show my buddy how tracking worked, no joke it shot right between them...hit the wall behind them and didn’t even kill them.

Tracking was fine until the latest patch! Since then it’s shit! They did something too it even though nobody ever moaned about rockets
-
for PvP it is fine since players can actually dodge them, so not a garantied kill. What should be done tho is that the tracking module takes effect sooner, when the target is too close the rocket just doesn’t even try to go towards the target... also track the spot where you aimed, so many times the rocket goes for the body when you aimed the head. lets say the guy is hiding behind something but you can see its head, you can lock onto him but the rocket goes for its body which is blocked by the obstacle, this sucks. this needs fixing.

I personaly don't mind old exotics returning but it would be great if Truth would make a return. Maybe it will compete against wardcliff
-
If you need tracking on rockets then use the wardriff coil, that thing is everywhere in competitive

Edited by Chubbums: 11/11/2018 1:30:17 AMJust give them all proximity I say. Hey it's a power weapon, supposed to be hard to counter right. Didn't people defend Sleeper for being cheap as hell, why not give rockets proximity so they are more viable.
-
They should lead the target, it would also need a certain finesse since you can probably kill yourself when your rocket leads too much and hits a rock.

Edited by Nemesis XX: 11/11/2018 6:43:58 AMI was dealing with this in gambit tonight....time and time again I had opponents, literally without exaggeration, simply walk forward to dodge a ‘locked on” missile (with cluster bombs mind you). What good is a rocket lock on if someone can just walk forward or sideways not run) to dodge it? This is with maxed velocity bar too. I also have an exact copy with lower velocity and it didn’t make a difference in their ability to just walk forward to out maneuver the rocket.
-
It's not just tracking that needs a buff Rocket launchers need a buff across the board There pretty underwhelming at this point When I fire a rocket with cluster bomb into a packed group of enemies I expect it to do more than just kill two and slightly injure the rest
