So everyone remembers those pyramid things we saw at the end of the D2 campaign right? Well I don't think Bungie does. I was really confused because the base game's campaign was the first PvE "thing" that Bungie added to D2 and I assume they must have finished making the base game's campaign before they even started DLC's (yes I know they could of had another team in Bungie simultaneously working on the upcoming DLCs) and if that's true, why are they delaying the arrival of these "Pyramid things?" My first guess is suspense. By holding off on adding this expansion, they are building suspense for its arrival. I.e Bungie might set the story how they did in the beginning of D2: everything is going well until some bad guys show up. What do you guys think about this?

They realized Bungle was killing this game and moved on.
-
Well if you do the Offering to the Oracle you can talk to Mara in her Throne World and she has a little hologram of the pyramid ships. She knows what and who they are. So..my guess is, we’ll find out a little more about them as time goes on, then they’ll be a big part of D3.

Edited by TheHaloCat3958: 10/24/2018 11:22:13 PMWe might get a DLC about stopping them from reaching the system, (we fail obviously), setting up D3 this would mark the first time we ever failed to stop a major enemy. It would be a good cliffhanger

Paragraphs really do matter.
-
Bait for the next purchase
-
They all got sucked into a black hole. Anticlimax 100
-
We'll find out in the D2 Age of Triumph.
-
When they tried to launch an attack the were stopped by a paywall.
-
Remember, they are very very very very very very very very very very very very far away. Extra-galactic, amigo. Even with FTL capabilities, the Reapers-- I mean, pyramid heads-- I mean, Darkness is gonna have a long friggin' trek to get into the Sol system.
-
They’re stuck in matchmaking
-
They would be here by now if they had taken that left turn in Albuquerque

Edited by Disciple4Christ4: 10/24/2018 5:55:22 PMYou say that bungie forgot about them, and yet last week they were in Mara’s court
-
such dick speculative move, nice try.
-
Ummmm mate there is a very simple explanation. They were outside the galaxy, I imagine it’ll take time to cross such a distance
-
You can see the queen monitoring them when you visit her. You won’t see them for real until D3 ... if there is a D3, since Bungie seems intent on running everyone off.
-
They’re still making their way toward us while the lore forum panics about their arrival.
Toward us.
Edited by H1vac: 10/25/2018 11:26:28 PMThey are outside of the Milky Way galaxy which puts them at least more than a few thousand lightyears away from us; >25,000 at least. At least at the end of the first campaign.
-
I think they’re waiting to release it like they’re waited to release the life of the Sovs’ and everything with Eris at the end of The Taken King. Plus. In the ascendant challenge there was a hologram very close in representation to these triangle pyramid things.
-
They are outside the milky way. And not too close. That's a few tens of thousands of light-years away. And even with all of Destiny's hyper-future shit that'll take a while to get to us. So other things unfold for now until that massive shitstorm gets to us.
-
they are still floating around out there
-
They are 1/3 of the way here. 1 year down 2 years to go
-
Edited by Lord0fHats: 10/26/2018 1:41:51 AMWe'll see them again in D3, after completing the main campaign in a teaser cinematic, that never amounts to anything and appears to have no relevance to the next 4-6 expansions to the game.
-
They're stuck in a loading zone
-
The queen had a hologram of the ships near her throne.

I'm guessing we'll get a dlc or event where we face a stray beast of the Darkness far out and when we fail to defeat it, Drifter contains it and tells us he thought we'd be ready and then we get left on cliffhanger of impending doom.
