Bungie For the two years we as a community have been playing the same boring game modes. I feel like the majority of the community doesn't like Countdown and Survival. I for one can say that whenever I am doing competitive, I dread playing countdown or survival. They are just centered around an objective entirely, and can manifest some pretty scummy strategies, that are just usually going to end in the team abusing the strategy winning the game. For example, eliminations objective isn't around kills, but it's revolved around heavy. Whichever team gets heavy will usually result in the win for that round. I feel like these gamemodes may be able to improved if Bungie were to take out the infamous 'titan skate', as it in it's current state is ridiculous and game breaking. Bungie tried to fix it in D1, but now its back and better than ever. If there could be penalties for skating, serious penalties like a suspension, it could stop people from doing it. I know that it says in the ToS that 3rd party applications are illegal, but Bungie are doing hardly anything to actually combat 3rd party apps. Skate also provides a 'cheese' strat, as the user who is skating can just skate, get a shoulder charge kill while they have Insurmountable Skullfort equipped, and they have another shoulder charge and health restored. I personally am aggravated whenever I am versing someone who abuses skate, especially in countdown or survival. They can skate to heavy, use a barricade, skate to the bomb to defuse it or plant it, and by then that titans team will be setup around the objective, providing no easy way to win the round. This is why I feel like gamemodes such as Skirmish or Elimination will provide to fix this. If an enemy is killed in elimination, they are eliminated. Snipers are at such a weak spot currently, especially with skate, that unless you are forcing yourself to use it everyday, a shotgun will almost always be a pick that is taken over a sniper because of the ease of use. So in a gamemode like elimination, where you play for kills, not heavy or kills in a short amount of time a sniper could be a better pick, as you can perform 'rez' snipes that were in D1. These were snipes that had the user snipe the enemy from their resurrection, to punish the resurrection. If they rush the enemy and get killed but they get a kill, the team that killed the skating titan can get revives, and it is then a 3v2, simple as that. I know this argument is confusing, but I hope I can shed some light on the current situation of Titan skating and it ruining the current gamemodes. The Last Word can also combat the current shotgun meta, and it was a MASSIVE fan favourite in D1. I hope Bungie can read this forum and get back to me on why they have decided to keep Titan skating in the game for so long, and why they can't bring back fan favourite weapons or gamemodes such as The Last Word or elimination.
