Competitive Sabotagers
Today I witnessed something I never thought would ever happen. Me and my friend were playing competitive like normal and matched up with someone and someone else were emoting in spawn most of the game. Sitting there and doing nothing in the game other than fighting, pushing for a zone, or shooting at them at all. Later on I saw that someone on my team was playing with someone on the opposite team right after that game. That right there is what really made me upset because that proves that they were boosting in some way.
Bungie it would be cool if you could add a forfeit option in competitive if someone leaves or if the game is way out of hand. It would be extremely nice of you guys, for the competitive players.
Bungie if you see this and you want the gamer tags of these players message me.

My guess is they were just in the game mode for rewards/a quest step. That’s the only reason I ever touch Crucible; and while I don’t sabotage my team, I don’t try very hard either.

I’ve been put on the opposite team than my teammates before, and all we did from orbit was to select the activity. Matchmaking erroneously split us up. Kind of frustrating when it happened and trials on our flawless match. Also happened more recently in the last iron banner.

1 ReplyYeah so how old is this post? I get what you're addressing and agree with how appalling the audacity of some players has changed the gameplay to not function as designed. That being said. I called a cheater out by name and the thread began gaining traction with other players that have come across the same named individual only to be threatened by the dev. team with a ban for being in violation of the terms of use and a statement that if I create discussion about said individual that it could potentially be a permanent ban. Cheaters do win apparently. Way to go bungo!!!! #protectingtheirown

Whatever they were doing. It was a dick move. I only ever go into crucible for weekly/daily gear drops and when I do I specifically choose rumble and just stand around using emotes. Because then I'm not ruining a team by holding them back. I'm passive aggressive towards PvP modes in general but not to the level you have described.

Doubt they were boosting. Trying to game the MM system takes a LOT of time and effort. You were probably just being trolled. Somone's under-parented kid decided to entertain himself by sabotaging you, and watching your struggle and frustration. Report him and move on.

Yup people do this, so do the low levels that are just going in to complete the required 2 matches. Bungie won't do anything about it.

I played 3 matches today with someone purposely throwing the game. The same person every match. But if I leave because of people like him I get the time out lol.

I had a game of gambit like this...the guy was emoting and not killing anything. I thought maybe he was waiting to invade. Then we got invaded and the invader didnt try to kill him at all and he didnt try to kill the invader. I killed the invader with a rocket launcher and was almost dead I crouched behind a boulder to get my health back and died to an ogre that spawned right behind me. That piece of crap started tea-bagging me, not reviving me not shooting the ogre, died freaking tea-bagging. I'm just kind of like WTF?? Next round same thing. When I looked at their clan names they both had weird looking symbols and no letters for their clan name. They was not the same but similar. There are some real jackoffs in this game.

I played two games of Gambit today against a team and on the third game, I was match made to be on the team of one of the opposing players. It’s just matchmaking, nothing sinister.

They do it by getting kicked as soon as the queue finds some people on purpose and then joining the game back real quick through the party. It gives them a chance to join on the opposite team. It's happened to me before in Gambit so I had to face 3 of my clanmates. Pretty funny when it happens on accident and I'm the party owner so they can't kick me and I can hear them talk. Haha
